A great hotel in all aspects and during Haj time with all the crowdness the service remained A -class. A great reason for such Review is also Ismail Omar the Restaurant manager who is a great example of work devotion and guest service. He has demonstrated many qualities in tough times how to handle the guests kindly with a smile, while dealing with a crisis effectively in no time leading his team in person working hand in hand. I have rarely seen such caliber in this area with such professional attitude. The restaurant and food are among the best things in hotel, however the hotel overall is of great service and value. Keep it up and take care of your good people. 👏👍

We were visiting from the USA, and our experience at Swissôtel Makkah was truly outstanding. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality we received — especially from Mr. Sakeer, the assistant manager, whom we had the pleasure of interacting with during the daily dining. He was incredibly welcoming, always checking in to see if everything was okay, asking if we needed anything, and offering to help in any way he could. His warm personality and attentiveness really made a difference and left a lasting impression on us.
The buffet meals for both breakfast and dinner were phenomenal — so much variety, consistently delicious food, and the dessert bar was next-level. Even during the busiest times, there was always plenty to choose from, and the staff worked tirelessly to keep everything well-stocked and fresh.
The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the in-room Adhan system was such a thoughtful touch that enhanced the spiritual experience of our trip. And of course, the location — 0 meters from Masjid al-Haram — couldn’t have been more perfect. Even in the busiest foot traffic during Hajj season, I always appreciated the location of my hotel as I knew that in just a few more feet I would be home.
Every part of our stay reflected high-quality service, genuine care, and great attention to detail. We’re so grateful for the hospitality we received and would definitely return again.

My stay at Swissôtel Makkah was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk agent Ahmed Al Amri, who was highly professional and made the check-in process smooth and quick. He was very responsive and answered all my questions with a smile, reflecting the excellent hospitality of the hotel.
I stayed in room 1223, and when it comes to cleanliness and in-room service, I would like to give special thanks to Ammar Aref from the housekeeping department. He was very attentive to the room’s cleanliness on a daily basis, paying attention to the smallest details. His attitude was respectful and polite, and he was always ready to assist with anything I needed—always with a smile and prompt service.
along with the high-level services, made this stay truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Swissôtel Makkah to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional hospitality.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Makkah during the last ten days of Ramadan, and it was a wonderful experience! The hotel’s service was exceptional, and the rooms were spotless. What made my stay truly memorable was a special surprise for Mother’s Day. My sister, who wasn’t with us, called the hotel from Jeddah to arrange a surprise cake for my mother and me. The customer service representative, Mr. Fares Alhazmi, handled the request with such grace and didn’t charge anything for it! The cake was beautiful, and the gesture was incredibly touching. I also want to extend my thanks to the hotel manager, Mr. Faisal, for his attentive service. The junior suite was spacious, comfortable, and offered great privacy with two bathrooms. Overall, an excellent stay

Good service.
Close proximity to haram 😊
Wonderful and large variety of food in buffet.
One thing which needs to be included is an extra bed for family of four. As sofa-cum-bed was not so comfortable. I hope management will look into this and will be resolved on my next visit 😜
Well done team!!!

I don’t know how this hotel has a 4.5 stars.. this was so expensive for finding mold in the bathrooms (video and picture) the bed is not comfortable, there is a beep sound in every floor and they don’t turn off at night time ( video). And when we asked them to turn off they said it’s like this and they can’t do nothing. It beeps every 10-20 seconds.. you can’t sleep.. Also the windows are so dirty that you can’t see anything outside ( picture).. the minimum you should keep are things cleaned.. the safe was also locked and not working, so we didn’t want housekeeping since we had our passports in the room.. we contacted them, they could not fix and that’s it.. it’s broken. The inclusive dinner does not even include soda.. only water!
I have nothing good to say. Even the short distance is not worth the money they charge.
There are better options around.
Sanitary and health services should be contacted for these molds..
True 5 star hotels would never be like this one. This hotel needs urgent updates..
And do you know what answer you get from them? Literally nothing! Any hotel that is 5 star would make sure things like these are working and cleaned and would at minimum provide 5 star Costumer service. I don’t know how they have a license to advertise they are 5 star hotel. That should be illegal

First I have to mention that The receptionist of this hotel Rania was the nicest receptionist I have ever encountered at a hotel. She was always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. She also was able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well. Second this is a luxurious hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. I was in town for a stressful event and coming back to this hotel’s room was very peaceful.

However compared to the money being paid, the rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller. The shower area is so small that a claustrophobic person would never get in there. The bathroom really needs working on considering the fact that this is a 5 star hotel. And the service isn't great. They have so many guests checking in every day and I guess this makes them indifferent or too tired to be hospitable to each guest.

The location is great. The hotel has two entrances one to the Haram with special entrance and the other to the street where you find taxis are waiting you. All service was top notch. Quadruple room with Kaaba view was spacious and tidy with most essentials provided for a family of 5. The bed is big, I loved it the most. Breakfast food was incredible with variety of choices; top management was also around to make sure everything was okay. I would like to thank Mr. Rakan at the reception desk for his welcoming and attitude. Loved our stay here!

Very convenient location close to Haram, very helpful and friendly staff, we were given Haram faced room without any extra charges a lovely view. Room are big and especially the luggage box room is very handy as it keeps your room clear of suitcases. Bath and toilets are very clean and spacious.
Only one area where there is room for improvement. The breakfast buffet has plenty of different items but if you are from South Asian subcontinent, then you will feel disappointed because mainly the dishes are either Arabic and some European. Also when it was busy, there was problem to find cutlery like teaspoons resulting in cold tea.
Overall a very good hotel and recommended to visit again.

Stayed here in 2017, was travelling with elderly parents to perform Umrah. The hotel was just brilliant, the location was around 300 yards from the Haram and ideal for the elderly travelling to and from the Haram performing the Umrah Rituals.
The cleanliness of the accommodation and facilities were next to none. We had a room facing the Kabbah, what an amazing sight that was!
The buffet breakfast, “Well what can I say! The variety was amazing. I don’t think I could identify all the dishes they were so plentiful.
If shopping is a key feature of you pilgrim then rest assured you won’t get a better hotel than this! The back exit goes straight into the clock tower mall.
Hopefully will be blessed to visit again soon!

Couple of minutes walk from gate 339, not far from ladies entrance.
In a quiet part of the north east quadrant basically on the border of the first ring road. Currency exchange, other shops nearby.
Hotel buffet is on level 2, food selection and temperatures ok.
Hotel clean, bathrooms could do with a update.
We booked two rooms via our agent, agent only gave us one reference number, despite giving the 2 x lead guest names, receptionists could not find the second room on their system which I found odd, I then had to get HCN numbers from agent to get both of our rooms despite both rooms being booked in my name and another family members name.
Some language issues with receptionists as their English was limited. I was having date samples delivered and I asked the reception staff in english, have any date samples been delivered for room 109? Neither receptionist could understand what I was saying? They thought i wanted to book another date !
Lucky for us, there were Bangladeshi workers so I asked them in bengali and they said they put samples in our room.
Hotel seemed clean otherwise, no pests were visible.

A great service by staff, Breakfast staff are amazing. The options for breakfast was amazing. Nice spacious restaurant. They also offer lunch and dinner which looked just as amazing. But didn’t realise until the end of our stay! But great food options for my young son also.
Staff were very prompt and used the laundry service which was excellent for a small fee.

One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. When I stepped onto the hotel room, it smelt of smoke, and you could tell the cleaners tried to cover it up with light spray. The smoke left over smells on all of the beds including pillows, even though there’s a sign on every door that has a no smoking sign. I have a family of 6, and we wanted enough for each, but instead 1 of the room has 3 beds, and the other has 2. Dust is left everywhere and there are prints of fingerprints and white stuff everywhere. Even worst than this, somethings you can’t even eat breakfast due to the amount of people and how sqaushed it is. The WiFi barely does anything even though in every room it says ‘enjoy free high speed internet.’ The only thing they actually care about is the look of the elevators, but they’re also really bad due to the smallness and how much people enter, with only 5 lifts available. I am very disappointed with this hotel, and the money was not worth any of it AT ALL.

Very good experience. When we arrived, couldn't find change anywhere for the taxi. When we asked the concierge Bilal he went asking local shops, when that failed he gave his own money and said to pay him back later in our stay. The receptionist were very helpful as were all the staff. The lifts are very well laid out which help make using them really quick without large queues. Taking into account the quality of most hotels in madinah. Muna Kareem was very laid out and designed really well. It was a 5 min walk to the ladies section and was very close to other amenities like the laundry services and shops. Would definitely recommend to others.

I’m someone who goes to top notch hotels such as Waldorf Astoria , Marriot Executive and even the Ritz! However this hotel came with a package going for Umrah , as it didn’t come with a choice and it was “5 stars†I had no issue. Little did I know , when I entered I thought that the reception was very small with weird blue lighting that makes it look like a fast food restaurant but that pales in comparison with the rooms and hotel service. Rooms had peeling paints with clashing colored walls that didn’t go together and bathrooms filled up with hair. Pillows (as you can see in the pic) are hard as if it had been stuffed with rocks , who is going to sleep on there?!? As I’m writing this review my neck is still hurting…
Then we order room service for milk for my kid at 9:30… how can a bloody 5 star hotel tell you that they ran out of milk?!? On top of that they don’t have water at times and when you call them for the basic necessities such as shampoo or conditioner they come just three hours later WITH NOTHING IN THEIR HANDS!!! asking what I want despite me already saying it!! All staff members barely speak English and act so rude when you tell them you don’t speak it
I would upload images but they don’t allow it
P.S. the Wi-Fi sucks so make sure to buy a sim before entering or a mini Wi-Fi box

I checked in the hotel for next four nights. Was worried after reading the comments of other previous guests of the hotel. Yes, the breakfast place is absolutely not meant to handle all the guests in this hotel. All floors have twenty rooms. The hotel Ground, Mezzanine and 14 floors over that. It has four basement floors as well. Yes, the elevators are slow and not according to large number of hotel guests. The hotel is otherwise comfortable, the staff is good. Room size and the facilities are good. It is not more than 3 minutes walk from the Masjid e Nabawi.

It needs upgrading on many criteria.. Hope the management will take that on their consideration.

I had an excellent experience with my Zam Zam travel, thanks to the knowledgeable guides and professional organization throughout the journey. The guides were well-versed in the rituals of Hajj, offering clear explanations and spiritual insights that enriched every step of the pilgrimage. The travel agency managed all logistics efficiently making a potentially complex experience smooth and stress-free. Their attention to detail and commitment to service allowed me to focus fully on the spiritual aspects of the pilgrimage.

Alhamdulillah, I had the incredible blessing of performing Hajj with Zamzam Travels, and it was truly a wonderful and spiritually uplifting experience. I travelled with Brother Omar and Al Amin, and I can’t thank them enough for the care, guidance, and support they provided throughout the journey.
As a sister travelling for Hajj, I felt safe, supported, and respected at every stage. The organization and attention to detail were exceptional, from the accommodations and transportation to the religious guidance and group coordination. Brother Omar and Al Amin were always there with calm leadership and clear communication, making sure everything went smoothly for everyone.
Their sincerity and dedication made this journey even more special. It wasn’t just a trip—it was a transformative spiritual experience shared with a compassionate group and trustworthy guides.
I wholeheartedly recommend Zamzam Travels to anyone who’s planning their Hajj or Umrah. May Allah reward Brother Omar, Al Amin, and the entire team for their efforts and allow them to continue serving the Ummah with excellence.
Jazakum Allahu Khayran for an unforgettable Hajj journey.

I travelled for Umrah with my husband and our two daughters between 9–20 April with Zam Zam Travels, and I cannot praise them enough for the outstanding service we received from start to finish. I have travelled with them on two previous occasions and this was the third.
Like before on previous trips, from the moment we booked, Brothers Fahim and Sharif in the Birmingham office were incredibly supportive. They made sure we had all the information we needed, answered all our questions with patience and clarity, and helped us feel completely at ease ahead of our journey.
Once we arrived in Saudi Arabia, the care and support continued seamlessly. Brother Mahmood in Makkah and Brother Afsar in Madinah were both exceptional. They guided us through the completion of our Umrah as soon as we landed and offered continuous support to help us make the most of our time in Makkah and Madinah. Their knowledge, kindness, and dedication were truly appreciated. The Ziarats in both cities were especially moving and beautifully organised – a real highlight of the trip.
As a mother travelling with two daughters, I felt very reassured throughout. It was a deeply spiritual and memorable experience for our whole family, and a lot of that was down to the professionalism and warmth of the Zam Zam team.
Thank you so much — we look forward to booking our next trip with you again and highly recommend you to others planning their Umrah Hajj journey’s.

My family and I recently travelled for Umrah from 9–20 April through Zam Zam Travels, and I can honestly say the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. This was our second Umrah trip with Zam Zam, having also undertaken Hajj with them a while back too.
From the initial booking stage, Brothers Fahim and Sharif at the Birmingham office were incredibly professional and supportive. They made sure we had all the necessary information and documentation, and they were always available to answer our questions and put our minds at ease before travelling. Their attention to detail and warm approach gave us real peace of mind, especially with our tailored needs of dates and times of travel.
On the ground, the support continued with equal excellence. Brother Mahmood in Makkah and Brother Afsar in Madinah were both extremely helpful and approachable. From guiding us through the completion of our Umrah upon arrival to helping us maximise our time in both holy mosques, their knowledge and dedication made a big difference. The Ziarats in both cities were beautifully organised and added a deeply meaningful dimension to our trip, a useful and helpful reminder of the key historic sites and events in Islam.
As a parent, I really appreciated how smoothly everything ran. We were able to focus fully on our worship and spiritual experience without worrying about logistics. My family and I are truly grateful to Zam Zam Travels for helping us create another memorable and blessed moment.
Highly recommended — we would definitely travel with them again.

Alhamdulillah - just got back from our first Umrah Trip and it was wonderful from start to finish. Everything was seamless. Our leader (Abu Ubaydah) was so caring, thoughtful and inspiring. He was able to give us clear information on the Ziyaarats, check in on me and my family at various points throughout the trip and provide support whenever needed. The hotels were less than 5 mins walk from both Masjids and coaches were available when travelling certain distances. Inshallah we will be travelling with Zam Zam ltd. again in the future - Ameen. We have recommended this group to our relatives as well. We made great friends on the trip and as a first Umrah trip - it is experience I will treasure. May Allah (swt) bless you. Ameen.

Alhamdullilah, this was my first experience completing Umrah. I am so pleased to say that the whole journey was organised well, and ran smoothly day to day. Our group leader (Abu Ubaydah) was kind, considerate, thoughtful, and made sure to check in daily to see how we were feeling and doing. The ziyarats were completed via coach (as a group) and these were very insightful, but there was also opportunities to experience both Makkah and Madina independently from the rest of the team. As someone who can feel anxious about travelling, this truly was an incredible experience spiritually and I’m very thankful to Zam Zam ltd.
To mention also- the hotels at both locations were less than 2 minutes from the Haram and the Nabawi mosques, meaning we could access easily for prayers, and not get lost!! Alhamdullilah 🤲🏽

I have been to Umrah numerous times with Zam Zam Travels are trustworthy and outstanding. This time again, the services they provided were exceptional. From the preparation to the end of this spiritual journey – I was very impressed with them. Brother Sharif was very helpful and gave excellent service in the UK- He was very informative at all points of our preparations. Support was given in the whole e-visa process and managed to add my sister and my nephew at the last minute - Alhamdulillah. Reaching Jeddah, we were greeted at the airport, and Brother Mahmud got us to perform Umrah with ease. Brother Mahmud was understanding, supportive and always checked upon us. I wanted to do another Umrah and they provided information and supported me how to get to Masjid Aisha. The transition in going to Medina was done well as the transport was First Class. Brother Afsar was very helpful and always checked upon us, the organisation for the Ziyarat of the different Masjids in Madinah Munwarah were insightful and the Ziyarat to the Roza of the Muhammad S.A.W was done so efficiently that it was surreal. I would highly recommend Zam Zam Travels as they gave us excellent hotels which were very near to both Holy Places, the service provided was outstanding – will go again with them 😊. I am very grateful that they have made my dream come true and may Allah swt give them Barakah.

For Hajj We went with Zamzam travels through Al-Rajhi. Overall they weren’t helpful. The 5 days in Mina was Oke for us Alhamdulilah. It was managed in the best way possible by Al Rajhi. On the other hand a lot of elderly people were stranded and that could have been avoided. Customer service was horrendous by Zam zam travels - They really didn’t apologise for anything. Anyone booking Hajj- avoid Zamzam travels.

ZamZam Travels Ltd in conjunction with Al Rahji along with my family ruined a lot of peoples Hajj this year.
They had horrendous communication with us, even before we left for Hajj, we received our flight tickets for the Hajj the day before departure (16th June 2023). We then had to quickly organise transport to take us the 5hr journey to London Heathrow for the next day, upon arrival at the airport terminal there were no representatives from ZamZam Travels or Al Rajhi to be seen. This disorganisation continued for the whole duration of our Hajj journey. No one from ZamZam could be bothered to answer any of our questions while in Makkah.
Even during Hajj days itself in Mina and Arafat there seemed to be a complete lack of care towards us pilgrims especially the elderly and less abled, many were left to fend for themselves.
Transportation between hotels on our shifting package was also a complete shambles, we kept being told different times of when the coach would be arriving and in the end we paid for a taxi to take us and our luggage to the next hotel.
Overall, i would advise anyone looking to book a Hajj package in the future to check which companies the package is affiliated with and to avoid ZamZam/Al Rajhi as they showed a blatant disregard for the hujjaj and were just completely disrespectful and disappointing. Hopefully they can learn from they mistakes and improve.
