We recently stayed at the Pullman Zamzam Hotel in Makkah Tower, and it was a deeply disappointing experience from start to finish. As someone who was expecting a comfortable and relaxing stay, especially in such a well-known hotel, I was incredibly frustrated by the overall quality and service. Room Service & Cleanliness: The first major issue was with room service. The room itself was not properly cleaned when we arrived. There were stains on the carpet, Another major flaw was the room size and comfort for four people. The room felt cramped and congested with barely enough space to move around. The furniture was old and didn’t match the supposed luxury feel the hotel is known for. It wasn’t equipped for four people in terms of amenities— extremely uncomfortable. It was evident that the room was not designed with families or larger groups in mind. It felt more like a basic, overcrowded space rather than the lavish retreat one would expect from a hotel in such a prime location. Staff and Service: The staff was helpful and responsive to our requests. We had changed room on request and they did but it was not comfortable too. Dining & Food: The dining experience was another letdown. The food was average at morning breakfast. General Atmosphere: The entire atmosphere of the hotel was less than stellar. The elevators were constantly crowded, and the lobby felt chaotic and unorganized. It was hard to get any sense of relaxation in such a busy, congested environment. Overall, my stay at Pullman Zamzam Hotel was a huge disappointment. The combination of poor room service, uncomfortable accommodations, left me feeling dissatisfied and frustrated. I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding my recent stay at your hotel, which unfortunately fell significantly short of the standards I expected. Upon arrival, I found that only two reception agents were available despite a high number of guests waiting to check in. This led to a lengthy delay before I could be assisted. I was initially assigned Suite 2906 in the non-smoking area. However, upon entering, I immediately noticed a strong smell of cigarette smoke throughout the suite, including the bedrooms. I was offered a refreshment spray, but I declined due to my son’s allergy. The suite was then changed to 2106. When I requested the bellman supervisor’s assistance in transferring my luggage from the car, my request was refused. I had to escalate the matter to the manager before the staff agreed to assist. Unfortunately, the replacement suite was also unsatisfactory. It was not properly prepared for guests, retained an odor of cigarettes, was not thoroughly clean, and did not contain sufficient amenities for the number of occupants. Furthermore, when we requested additional water, coffee, and tea from housekeeping, the request was declined, citing hotel policy. I raised these issues with both the supervisor and the hotel manager during my stay. However, my concerns were neither addressed nor resolved. No corrective action was taken, no compensation or complimentary service was offered, and the issues remained unresolved throughout my stay. This experience was far below the level of comfort, service, and hospitality I expect from a property of your standard. I trust you will take this feedback seriously and ensure such shortcomings do not occur for future guests. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I will not be considering a future stay. Read less

We recently visited Makkah for Umrah with my family and had a truly wonderful experience. The location was perfect — just a short walking distance to the Holy Kaaba, which made it very easy and convenient for us, especially when having 2 kids (8 & 6 y.o.) The service was excellent throughout our stay. A special thanks to our brothers in the kitchen and housekeeping, especially Amir Hamza and his team, for their outstanding hospitality and care. The only minor point to mention is the elevators in the Clock Tower (not the hotel itself). Since there are many attractions and shops on each floor of the tower, it sometimes takes a little while to get an elevator up to the hotel’s reception. We arrived in Makkah as early as 6 am and, although early check-in wasn’t available until 9, the front desk kindly provided us access to the lobby restrooms so we could freshen up before performing our Umrah. After completing our Umrah that morning, we returned to the front desk around 9:30 and were greeted by the lovely Rawabi, who checked on early check-in availability for us. Alhamdulillah, there was a room ready and we were able to check in much earlier than the standard 4 pm—this made such a difference after our long journey, and we were so happy and grateful! The room itself was spotless and comfortable, the breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, and all the staff were kind and welcoming. And of course, the location is absolutely ideal—just steps away from the Haram, making it incredibly convenient for every prayer. However, there are a few areas that could use improvement. 1. I was surprised to find that the reception staff asked for a review—possibly for their KPI—before assisting guests. This is unexpected behavior, especially for a five-star hotel. 2. We encountered an issue trying to book a buggy through our Umrah app, which required a Saudi number that we didn't have at the time. When we asked the counter staff if they could offer any assistance, their response was simply, "Wallah, I can't help," before resuming their conversation with friends. I felt somewhat dismissed, as even if they couldn’t book it for us, they could have at least suggested an alternative solution. I had a pretty good experience with Pullman Zam Zam. This was the first time I used this hotel and can honestly say apart from a few issues that are possibly out the hotel chains control, it was great. The rooms are spacious enough for 4 people. The single beds are a very decent size and are more likely 3 1/4 beds, which I loved. The best thing about the location is it classed within the Harram and has speakers connected directly to the room and you can hear and azaan and recitation. The check in process was unnecessary long, the reservation had been made 2 months in advance and an accessible room was requested, however, this was not made available for us on check in. I was disappointed to find out there are only 4 accessible rooms in this monster of a hotel. The room service was great, they have a great bunch of guys providing a great service. Breakfast was decent, the lifts in the hotel worked great, but the clock tower ones that we use to get to the hotel reception floor were very temperamental. The clock tower lifts are as expected super busy at times causing some delays. My biggest disappointment was the basement drop off and pick up location floor which is -2 from the clock tower lifts. This area is so dangerous and it is absolutely shocking how this planned out. There are so many vehicles coming and going and majority of those are for hotel customers of several big chains, however, the drivers are not allowed to park as they will get a fine. Proper lanes and parking space should be created so families can load or offload their families and luggage with ease the location is amazing, coming out the clock tower you are directly facing the Kind Abdul Aziz gate and can see the kaba. Hotel chain needs to improve on providing more accessible rooms and try and organise the parking, loading and offloading of passenger to make the customer experience a lot better. Staying here did feel like it was a 5 star hotel, thanks and I would definitely consider staying there again. Read less

This was a terrible experience. Broken shower. No help in getting a new room or repairing the problem. Bugs in the rooms. Lights not working. No temperature control in the air conditioner. I was travelling with family and one night after Umrah the water in the shower was dirty. This was at 2am. Nobody responded to my complaints so I went to reception at 2:30 and spent half an hour trying to get the staff to at least give me a place to shower since they could not resolve the issue. Finally they gave me a room to shower in. This room had bugs in it. Then I had them move me into a new room so that I could have usable running water. Around 5am they sent me to a new room, but when I walked in there were already people living there who I had to have an awkward encounter with. Finally I had them give me yet another room. By this time it was 5:30am. This room like all the others is in bad condition and poorly cleaned. Many of the lights in the room are not working. Worst of all I have seen bugs crawling around this room. Throughout the hotel I have seen many other angry guests and the whole place is in chaos. By far the worst Pullman I have ever stayed in (I am an Accor member and regularly stay in the chain). Read less

Maintenance of the rooms was neglected overall. Took so long to get to the floor you wanted or wait for the lift to arrive it didn't feel like 5 star experience at all. 2 star because housekeeping was great and they did their job well when requested. We did have overflowing bin for 1 day as housekeeping didn't come. Our 3-4 star hotel in Madinah was better kept and maintained and had great housekeeping there! AVOID at all costs - Misleading 5-Star Rating This hotel is an absolute disappointment and a far cry from the 5-star rating it boasts online. The experience was terrible from start to finish, and I strongly advise anyone considering staying here to look elsewhere. Poor Cleanliness: The room was not clean upon arrival. The bathroom was particularly shocking, with visible grime on the tiles and a general sense of neglect. For a supposed 5-star hotel, this is completely unacceptable. Lifts are a Nightmare: With only three working lifts for a 13-floor hotel, getting anywhere is a major ordeal. What should be a quick 3-minute walk to the mosque turned into a frustrating 30-minute journey just because of the long wait times for the lifts. This is a massive inconvenience, especially for a hotel that caters to pilgrims. Horrible Breakfast Experience: The breakfast was chaotic and unorganized. None of the food items were labeled, so you had to guess what everything was. The egg station had a single, incredibly slow worker, leading to long queues. This lack of organization and poor service makes for a very unpleasant start to the day. Terrible Odors: The hallway on my floor had a persistent and awful smell that was truly unbearable. It made the entire experience feel dirty and unhygienic. Overall, this hotel is poorly managed, unhygienic, and a complete waste of money. There are plenty of other hotels in Medina that offer a much better experience and are actually worthy of their ratings. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else. Read less

My family and I stayed at Frontel Hotel for 4 days part of our Umrah journey, the hotel location is fantastic which is closer to the masjid al Nabawi, staff was very polite and helpful, and everything was perfect including the biggest buffet breakfast, the food was delicious. This is one of the best hotels that you can find because it is neat and clean throughout the building, and all the staffs goes beyond to make your memorable experience. Terrible Experience – Not a 5-Star Hotel! Do not be fooled by the 5-star rating — this hotel is barely a 3-star at best. Our first room had visible mould, a broken shower and bathtub, filthy carpets, and layers of dust and dirt everywhere. We requested a room change, but the second room had the exact same issues. The third room was even worse — it started to smell like sewage shortly after we checked in. The entire hotel is extremely outdated, with rooms that look like they haven’t been renovated since the 1980s. This is nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a supposed 5-star establishment. To make matters worse, Alharam Travel (Romford Road, London) changed our hotel last minute — not once, but twice — and placed us in this awful place. Completely unacceptable and disappointing from both the hotel and the travel agency. Avoid at all costs. Read less

However, I must admit that the first impression of the hotel was slightly underwhelming. The elevator was disappointingly slow, leading to some frustrating wait times during peak hours. Additionally, the elevator itself was quite cramped, which could be uncomfortable, especially for guests with mobility concerns. One of the highlights of my stay was the food selection offered during breakfast and lunch. While not exceptional, the choices were satisfactory, and the quality was decent enough to start the day with a good meal. I especially enjoyed the Dacidoff coffee sachet provided in the room, which was a delightful touch. Speaking of the rooms, I found them to be quite pleasant overall. The mattress was comfortable, providing a good night's sleep, and I was pleased to find two pillows for each occupant, allowing for personalized comfort. The housekeeping staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that the rooms were kept tidy and well-maintained throughout our stay. Another delightful aspect of Frontel Madinah was its proximity to a Baskin Robbins cafe near the reception area. In conclusion, Frontel Madinah is a hotel with both pros and cons. All are good. Except one thing is harmful. I was staying in this hotel junior suite room 811 , stay date 28th July 2023. As per picture, you guys can see there is a steel peice has been fixed on the pillar behind the bed. My son was sleeping on bed , during he sleep he turned his hands towards another direction and touched this steel piece, which results cuts on his hands due to this steel decoration peice has sharp edges. You guys can see the blood on the bed of my son. I informed Mr. Khaled the duty manager, they just said one thing. We apologise for this, we will give you discount on your next visit. The carpets were very old, some of the sockets didn't work, the wallpaper was falling off and the service was very poor.
