I think this hotel staff went above and beyond during our stay. We were here for about six or seven days during Ramadan 2025, and everything exceeded our expectations. The rooms were always clean, and the staff on our floor were consistently professional and helpful. They made sure we had everything we needed and often checked in to see if we required any assistance.
The staff at the lobby were also extremely helpful and kind. One of the highlights of our stay was the iftar and suhoor meal that were included as buffet. It made our lives so much easier, and the food was genuinely delicious. We didn’t have to go out looking for iftar or suhoor spots. Tariq and Hamza working at the buffet were always very helpful. I can’t thank you guys enough for making us feel so comfortable. I can’t wait to come back with my family and stay here inshallah. Most important part is that Le Méridien made our stay during Umrah a very pleasant experience.
This is very close to clock tower and walk to Masjid al haram is only 5/max 10 minute because of the crowd. I highly recommend this place. I myself will be staying here when I come back inshallah.

The room is great, but bathroom needs more renovations with the smell
The service is excellent, love the friendliness and very helpful with any needs! Smiles all around!
Distance is best! Less than 5 mins walk to the Haram. Will stay here again.

I heard that some booked rooms were reassigned to a different hotel, which is highly unprofessional and very disappointing.
Additionally, there were several issues with the service that made the experience uncomfortable:
1. Inappropriate behavior from waiters – Three waiters were excessively flirty. While I was dining with my little sister, they catcalled us, exchanged glances, and laughed among themselves. I expected this city to be a place of joy and peace, but this behavior was far from it.
2. Rude waitress – My little sister was eating and had paused to talk to our parents, but before she could finish, the waitress took her plate without asking if she was done. There was no courtesy, no confirmation—just an assumption that the food was finished. What’s worse, there was still food on the plate, which ended up being wasted because it was thrown away without any confirmation. This lack of basic service etiquette is truly disappointing.
3. Unprofessional cleaning service – While I was in my hotel room with my grandmother, a male staff member rang the bell for cleaning. I told him everything was fine and no service was needed, yet he stood there, smiling and staring at my grandmother without moving until I closed the door. My grandmother and I was scared. Then, on the day of checkout, I was already in a rush when he entered the room while I hadn’t put on my hijab. As I hurried to the elevator, he raised his voice to joke—at a completely unnecessary time when I was clearly in a hurry.
This level of service and professionalism is unacceptable. I hope management takes this feedback seriously to ensure a better experience for future guests.

After reading many negative reviews, I was skeptical of staying here. But I was so glad that I did stay here for the reasons below:
1. Much more affordable than other options.
2. Very close to the Haram. 5 to 10 minutes walk depending on the crowd.
3. Clean room.
4. Prayer room option.
5. Good food.
7. Great customer service from everyone.
Even though I was there from 24 to 26 of Ramadan, which means extremely crowded.... the staff was very helpful and polite. I am definitely going to stay here again.

The hotel is nearby Haram (5 min walking) but the rooms, beds, bathrooms, appliances, toiletries, hardwares, furniture and fixtures etc. are neither good nor does it satisfy the amount paid. The beds were very uncomfortable and the lights were kind of dim. The charging sockets were very few in number and I had to use the extension plug for the extra sockets. The rooms are very congested as the floor runs short. However the room service guys are good and genuine to help moreover the stay was also good because the city itself is a place of peace.

The restaurant on the top floor is very good. Especially the cook who makes fresh omelettes in the morning and prepares hot pasta for dinner and lunch.

Great location. Haram is only a few hundred meters walk from the hotel. I was taking my mom in the wheelchair easily. Comfortable beds and clean rooms.
The reception staff needs some training. When I was checking out from the hotel, my mom was thirsty and asked the receptionist if she can have some drinking water. The receptionist rudely replied they do not have water, you better get it from outside. And the fact of the matter is we left some water in our room when we checked out. Our whole good experience turned bitter, and we decided not to consider Le Meridien ever for our stays

The food I would give a 4/10...the breakfast menu were on repeat everyday which honestly bore us, thus we'd prefer having breakfast outside. Lunch and dinner were 6/10... bearable to eat but again very little of vegetable, except on the last day!
Room service was 8/10...the staffs were hospitable and always asked permission before entering to clean our room.
Traffic wise, since it is located by the roadside, it is 24-7 busy with passerbys and guests that checked in and out.

Disappointing Stay at Province Al Sham
My recent stay at Province Al Sham was unfortunately quite disappointing, marred by several significant issues that negatively impacted our experience.
One major complaint was the air conditioning. Even after switching off the unit in our room, cold air continued to flow, likely from a central vent, making it uncomfortably chilly, especially at night. This lack of individual climate control was a constant source of discomfort.
The restaurant experience was particularly poor. The staff, including the manager, displayed a consistently negative attitude. We felt as though we were being scrutinized for simply eating there, with the manager's demeanor making us feel like we were "eating free food". Furthermore, dining during peak hours was a test of patience, as we frequently had to wait in long queues for around half an hour just to get to the buffet and more time to get the table.
Housekeeping was also a significant problem. Our room was not cleaned for two days, and when someone finally did come, the cleanup was a rushed, five-minute affair, clearly indicating a shortage of cleaning staff.
Adding to the discomfort, the bathroom ventilation was extremely poor. Unpleasant odors and sounds from the bathroom easily permeated the entire room, likely due to a lack of an effective exhaust fan or proper soundproofing. This significantly detracted from the overall comfort and privacy of the stay.
Perhaps the most shocking incident was witnessing a manager shout at an elderly person for simply not arriving on time for a meal. The guest, an older woman, was visibly distressed and didn't even respond. This display of disrespect towards a guest, especially an elderly one, was completely unacceptable and left a very poor impression.
Overall, the numerous issues with the air conditioning, the unwelcoming and inefficient restaurant service, the lack of proper housekeeping, the poor bathroom ventilation, and the appalling treatment of a guest by a manager made our stay at Province Al Sham far from enjoyable. I would not recommend this hotel.

Some of these reviews are ridiculous, but I might be also mad if I have to pay that much money for my self and get that level of the service, fortunately I was travelling in group which makes the price waaayy more make sense.
About the separate dining areas for Arabs and non Arabs, apparently it's common practice - although still very racist, in Makkah as well, but I thought that was based on the price of the room purchased, not the nationality, maybe, it's better that the hotel clarify this so the people aren't feeling discriminated in the holy land.
The best thing is location, I can simply jump out of bed and run to the female entrance all in less than 10 min , that's why I would definitely comeback if Allah wills ❤️

Location is 5 minutes from the ladies entrance King Fahd gate and door 21. The hotel lobby was neat and comfortable but the room was small. I had booked a triple room and there was not even space left to put a prayer mat.The furnishings looked a bit outdated and damaged. The toilet was clean but the hold support in the tub was loose which could cause a serious fall. The room service was very slow to respond. The breakfast buffet spread had many dishes but did not cater to all peoples common taste. It could be improved.
They have underground parking but the entrance is too narrow with limited slots and was unavailable during my stay. Luckily i could park at the space in the nearby Ritz hotel for Sr 5 per hour.

Location was good. It was nearby the masjid. However, the quality of room, hygiene not up to standard. Especially when you rate is a 4 star hotel. Its definitely not 4 star. More like 2 star.
I had to ask multiple times for toilet tissues. Even then they wouldn't refill. We were four people in one room and they found it appropriate to give less towels and toilet tissues. The shower head was not working as it should. Tiles cracked in bathroom. Grouts were dirty. Wallpaper ripped off the wall and head board all scratched.
Room service didn't come for 3 days. Bed sheets weren't changed. It was simply turned over. Thinking that we would not notice.
Carpets were physically observed to be dirty. When housekeeping came, he couldn't hoover it off. Breakfast was not nice. Skipped breakfast as it was simply not worth eating in the hotel.

My experience at Province Al Sham was very satisfactory, unlike some of the other reviews here.
It is located at about 10 minutes walk to the Holy Masjid but you have to cross a very busy road on the way.
The two rooms that I booked were cozy, well maintained and comfortable. Cleanliness can however be a bit improved.
The staff was friendly and cooperative during my 2 night stay there.
I cannot comment on the quality of their food though since I didn't try it.

I admit the have a good housekeeping and warm front desk counter staff. But their for their food preparation, this hotel about the worst because of the F&B Manager discriminate and instruct his staff to segregate the meal and food section between Asian and non Asian. As a person who is Asian and working, leaving oversea, bread and butter are our main meal. But our request been deny by their F&B Dept and really humiliated us. The F&B staff even shouted to my friend who also a guest hotel. Because of that I rate this hotel for F&B 2 star only. My advise, please respect your guest. We also human. And kindly educated your staff and management even they have enough "Education". Respect is earn. Please review and revise the way your serve your guest in F&B division.

This was honestly the worst experience ever I couldn't sleep for the 4 nights I spent here. I spent all night feeling itchy. The hygine was atrocious I didn't drink much liquids or eat much food just so I didn't need to use their bathrooms. My room had no lights just 2 lamps but for some decorative reasons 4 switches that were like the staff, absolutely useless and just for display. And let's not go onto the lifts I walked down 10 floors before my family even got a lift. My room, for a family of 4, had only 1 available socket so we had to charge our phones in turns. Any pictures of the hotel are complete catfish it showed slippers and bathrobes and an ironing board it even said complementary water and kajoors in the lobby but non of that was true. Throughout the 4 nights my room was never cleaned and my sheets and towels were never changed but on my first night they stood and my door yelled room cleaning till I woke up from sleep and asked if I needed water or anything and then proceeded to hoover the hallway bearing in mind it's 11pm. Would not recommend this hotel you're better of sleeping on the streets. Am fully convinced that any good review on this hotel were from the staff looking for a raise.

Arrived Thursday evening during Ramadan with my wife, mother and 2 young kids.
Room was dirty. Bedding hadn't been changed from the previous guests. Only 2 towels despite there being 5 of us. No hot water. We had to shower in a friend's room.
Next day after asking many times we spoke to the cleaner on our floor. The poor guy was responsible for cleaning the whole floor by himself. He cleaned the room, changed the bedding and gave us toilet roll and towels.
For the next 3 days we still had no hot water. They would say someone will come up in 20 minutes, making me wait in the room for hours so I couldn't go the masjid. We were told at one point, "Who needs hot water in this hot weather?" When we would ask for a partial refund or some compensation we would get laughed at. They wouldn't change our room due to availability. They offered us a 3 bed room twice over the 2 days which obviously I refused.
When I asked if we could keep this room and have the 3 bed room as well as surely they wouldn't be giving this faulty room to other guests, I got shouted at.
Eventually a plumber of some sort sourced a new water heater in the middle of the night and fitted overnight. He was the only one who apologised and understood our situation. The reception staff are rude and useless. The management are even worse.
The room itself is outdated with worn out carpet. The fridge is tiny. The windows don't close properly. You have to pester cleaning staff to clean the room. They give you one tiny toilet a roll a day and you have to plead for more.
Do not stay at this hotel at any cost.

He went above and beyond and responded back straight away when we had a question and any issues I had were sorted promptly I would really much recommend this company for anyone looking to travel to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah or Hajj. May Allah swt reward "Hafiz Affan" for his efforts with our umrah journey as it was out first time with 2 children and it went smoothly and we enjoyed every single moment and will be Definitely booking again with hijaz travel.

This was our first umrah trip and I'm so glad I booked with AlHijaz Travels. The personal service offered by brother Ijaz @AlHijazTravels was fantastic, right from package options like flights, hotels, payments and transport. I had looked at other online agencies but AlHijaz Travels came out on top for me.
1. I was initially looking for a 4-star package but due to elderly family members I needed hotels that were close to the Haram therefore, I went with their 5-star package with Anjum Hotel in Makkah and Maden Hotel in Madinah. Both the hotels were excellent and a 5 minute walk to the Masjid-al-Haram and Masjid-e-Nabawi. Location, Rooms, Service, Breakfast were all very good. See attached photos/videos for details.
2. Brother Ijaz provided a flawless package, even kindly adding extra family members to my booking and updating the invoices as needed. We spent five nights in Makkah and five in Madinah, experiencing Jumuah in both holy cities. It was truly the best experience, with everything working out perfectly, Alhamdulillah.
3. Transport (Airport pickup/drops, ziarat and Makkah to Madinah) was well organised once I understood the transport company message you on Whatsapp and provide you the driver details and their Whatsapp number. Make sure you get that information before you travel to Saudi so you can let them know about Airport pickup before you arrive. Also, give them 24 hours notice before your local trips in Saudi.
4. You should do your own research with hotels, location and proximity to Haram that will make it easy for you when agreeing a package with AlHijaz travels. They will work with you if you are clear with your requirements. Also, check the flight booking carefully especially the timings and stopover duration. If any concerns you should let them know straight away as flights are tricky to change once booked!
5. I had a couple of feedback comments to AlHijaz travels regarding communication via Whatsapp from Saudi to UK i.e. when you're in Saudi and you want to get in touch with them. They have accepted my feedback and will ensure the changes are made to make our experience seamless in future.
To summarise, Alhamdulillah, our first Umrah with AlHijaz Travels was an amazing experience! Brother Ijaz provided outstanding personal service, helping us choose the perfect 5-star package with hotels close to the Harams. Everything was excellent - flights, accommodation, transport, and the ziarat.
Inshallah, I will be booking with them again in the future either Umrah or Hajj!

I am currently on Umrah with this company. We departed on 18th December and, insha’Allah, plan to return on the 30th.
Positives:
Generally responsive during the initial booking process.
Knowledgeable about the logistics and formalities of the trip.
Negatives:
1. Hotel Quality:
The hotels offered were, in hindsight, of poor quality. Many had substandard reviews on Google, and upon reflection, it feels like cost-cutting measures were taken to maximise profits.
Despite expressing dissatisfaction with the hotel options early on, I felt pressured to accept them due to having already committed to the package and the company’s insistence that the accommodations were good.
About a week before travel, they abruptly changed the hotels, despite having earlier reassured me that my booking was secure. This was extremely frustrating, as I had only ever requested proximity to the Haram and breakfast included in the package—criteria the original hotels met.
2. Makkah Hotel (Palestine Hotel):
This replacement hotel did not include breakfast as promised. When I asked about it, I was told it would cost an additional 30 Riyals per person per day for our group of 10—a significant unplanned expense.
The hotel was also much farther from the Haram than described, situated at the far end of Ibrahim Khalil Road. Navigating this distance with a wheelchair for my elderly mother was very difficult. If walking is a concern, I strongly urge others to reconsider staying here.
3. Madinah Hotel (Safwat Al-Madina):
Upon arrival in Madinah, the hotel had no record of our booking, leaving us sitting in the lobby with 14 large suitcases for over 30 minutes while the issue was sorted.
We were eventually given three rooms across two floors (11th and 12th)—highly inconvenient given the slow lift service and completely unsuitable for my elderly mother.
The rooms were tiny (see picture), lacked basic amenities (e.g., a shower curtain), had used toiletries (see picture), and had a strong smell of fresh varnish, which is particularly problematic for asthmatics. Also screws sticking out of the door which were dangerous and ripped my wife's sleeve (pic attached).
Breakfast was also not included, despite earlier assurances, and dinner—which was originally part of the package—was omitted.
On 28th Dec 2024 at 10.30am we were told that we were being checked out and all our stuff will be removed from the room by 1pm and left in the lobby. Upon speaking to reception they laughed in my face. A young lad with an American accent said it's "not his problem" as the agent booked until 28th.
4. Broken Promises:
I suspect, though cannot confirm, that my original hotel bookings may have been transferred to other customers for financial gain.
Many promises made to me turned out to be empty, including assurances that if I was dissatisfied with the hotel, they would arrange for us to stay in five-star accommodation close to the Haram as compensation. This never happened, and I am now being ignored by the company.
Despite incurring significant personal expenses due to these changes, including paying for breakfasts and dinners, I have not been reimbursed a single penny.
5. Visa Issues:
The company provided the cheaper e-Visa, which is a visitor visa rather than an Umrah visa, meaning it does not include medical insurance. This was not explained to me during the booking process. I had to pay an additional £148 for proper insurance, as I was travelling with individuals who have long-term medical conditions.
6. Since I put this review up yesterday, I've had no contact at all from the company despite multiple WhatsApp messages - so it looks like I will be paying out of pocket for madina ziyarats too.
Additional Notes:
The company operates under the name Times Travel Ltd but also trades as Hijaz Travel and, as I have now learnt, under numerous other names. It appears to be part of a larger group. They have been operating for a number of years and yet there are only 165 reviews - alarm bells i wish i had noticed earlier(!)

I recently returned from my Umrah 1st Dec to 11th Dec. Everything was perfect ! Hotels in both locations were close to Masjid. The transport service were 5 star, spacious cars etc. No issue with flights or Visa either. My Umrah was a stress free experience and that's what you want for this kind of trip. Thank you especially to brother Amar, always there when needed and provided everything when required. JazakAllah brother.

Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd was our package of choice following months of research and narrowing down from a shortlist of 30 operators. Although this was a long and arduous process looking back there is no doubt that we made the right decision and we had the experience of a lifetime going for Hajj in 2019 alhamdulillah.
+ Customer Service/Staff: The support we received from Iqbal Bhai, Mahmood Bhai, Shakeel Bhai and Babu uncle was exceptional. This began from the moment I spoke to Iqbal bhai on the phone to enquire about his package of which I had no prior knowledge. Iqbal bhai was clear and direct about what he could offer and what he could not, clearly explaining the reasoning behind his choices so I could make a decision based on myself and my wife's priorities. The support is consistent throughout the time that you are with the group, not only from Iqbal Bhai but Mahmood Bhai, Shakeel Bhai and Mahmood bhai.
+ Size of the group: One of the reasons you can be assured of great support is the size of the group - between 70-80 people in 2019 which is one of the best things about the package. This is one of the smallest groups around which makes the group easy to manage and also allows you to form great relationships with the Hajjis you are travelling with - It also makes logistics easier to manage on Hajj days as the group leaders are always able to travel with us.
+ Azzizya/Hajj Days: Prior to starting Hajj we stayed in Azzizya for 2 days (and 2 days afterwards). Despite all the horror stories we had heard from other hajjis who had used other groups, our experience was excellent. The rooms were clean, beds were comfortable and the food was good (basic asian food, rice, curries e.t.c). Although I was initially skeptical about sharing a room with 5 others who I did not know beforehand, alhamdullilah the company was excellent. As previously mentioned, Iqbal bhai puts a lot of thought into all aspects of the experience including which people are placed in each room to minimize the risk of any conflict. Alhamdullilah there didn't appear to be any conflicts from anyone in the group as a whole and everyone got on very well. It also allowed everyone to get to know each other before Mina in which we are all sharing for 5 days!
Again the overall Hajj experience was excellent. In Mina, the tents had air coolers and we had plentiful food throughout our stay. In Arafat and Muzdallifah we had ample provisions and everything was coordinated extremely well, despite the millions of pilgrims all rushing to the same location.
Disclaimer: The Hajj days are by no means a 5* experience as one might expect on holiday. This means the standard of cleanliness in the toilets or standard of food are of not always of the standard we would expect back home in the UK. The same can be said about time schedules for transport. As you come to appreciate when in Hajj, this is because the said factors are not in the control of the tour operator, but of the Saudi authorities and appointed individuals overseeing proceedings. What can be assured of Al Hijaz is that they will do their uttermost to make your experience easy through all factors that they can control.
Makkah/Madina Hotels: Both hotels were amazing - In Makkah we stayed in the Swisshotel and Madina we stayed in Shazah al Madina - Both hotels are literally on the doorstep of the haram. Most notably the Shazah hotel in Madina is very close to the sisters entrance which makes things easier for the sisters in the group. Breakfast in both hotels was great with a large variety of foods to choose from.
To summarize: The price of packages offered by this group is higher than average but you can be assured of an amazing experience. Ikbal bhai and co. have your best interests in mind and will go out of their way to make the hajj experience easy for you and ensure that you can channel your focus on ibadah once you are there. We would strongly recommenced this group and would definitely like to travel with them again if we go for Hajj again inshallah.

RE: Hajj for the first time with Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd – Believe us "You’ll never walk alone"
Alhamdulillah, my wife and I went for Hajj for the first time in 2019 (1440 AH) and had an incredible experience with Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd.
We decided to go with Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd after several recommendations from previous Hajj & Umrah pilgrims. We were told how experienced Iqbal Bhai and his team were and how everything they promised they would deliver, if not more. They weren’t wrong.
MashaAllah, Iqbal Bhai and his team (Mahmood Bhai, Shaqil Bhai and Babu Uncle) were fantastic hosts and extremely welcoming. From the first time we picked up the phone to enquire, we knew we were in good hands.
Iqbal Bhai and his team were always available and helpful when we had any questions and the knowledge they shared with all the pilgrims in the group was invaluable. Everything from their choice of hotels in Makkah al-Mukarramah and Madinah Al Munawwarah, to their logistical planning, itinerary and general high service levels, they were brilliant.
We had a brilliant hajj experience, something we will never forget – Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd was integral to delivering this experience and we can’t say JazakAllah enough.
P.S. Just wanted to give a shout out and a big JazakAllah to all the family members and wives of Iqbal Bhai, Mahmood Bhai, Shaqil Bhai and Babu Uncle who worked hard behind the scenes and sacrificed their family time to deliver this once in a lifetime experience for the group of pilgrims that travelled with Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd in 2019.
May Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala bless you all with the very best in this world and in the hereafter – Ameen

Just had the pleasure of performing Hajj with Al-Hijaz Tours and Travels (London).
Mash'Allah, Iqbal Bhai, Mehmood Bhai and team were really exceptional in planning and organising the whole trip. They exert a huge amount of effort making sure all the pilgrims are safe and well, particularly when walking through huge crowds, they really do look out for you! The service, accommodation and transport throughout was perfect. Hotels near the Haram were great and meant we didn't have to travel far to reach the Masjid, both in Mecca and Medina.
Prior traveling, communication was excellent, Iqbal Bhai was honest and open about all aspects of the booking process and what to expect when traveling with his group. No nasty surprises!
Overall, our experience surpassed all expectations, and I would without hesitation recommend Al-Hijaz Tours and Travels.
May Allah reward Iqbal Bhai, Mehmood Bhai, Babu Uncle and Shakil Bhai, and grant them success, in this life and the next, ameen.
P.s Iqbal Bhai and Mehmood Bhai, you are exceptional custodians of your father's legacy, mash'Allah, may Allah increase you both, and reunite you all in jannah, ameen!
JazakhAllah khair

OUR LEGACY
Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd isn’t just a Travel company but instead, The blessed legacy left to us by our Late Father Haji Yunus Mohammed Malji (Dayadra).
He became Shaheed during Hajj 2006, whilst in the state of Ihram travelling from Madinah to Mecca with his pilgrims. His shroud for burial was his Ihram and more than 4 million people performed his burial prayer within the Haram Shareef whilst he lay there in front of the doors of Ka’bah.
He is now buried in Makkah Shareef (Al Humdulillah) and we his family, have encompass an extremely important value that if we continue his blessed work through Integrity & Honesty in serving the guests of Allah (swt), we may also get such an incredible departure from this world! (In Sha Allah).
OUR DRIVE
Since 2006, Iqbal Patel our Managing Director at Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) has now gained over 13 years of continued experience within the Travel and Tourism sector. Having started this role through attending his father’s burial abroad in Makkah during Hajj 2006, he made it his mission to continue serving pilgrims in performing Hajj & Umrah.
Iqbal worked in several well known organisations prior to this role, already extremely well rehearsed in travelling across the world. Iqbal’s favourite past time use to be, Back Packing across countries and so, his know how and insight within travel is unquestionably first grade.
Every year our pilgrims ask us to organise tours, holidays, hotels and flights for them and their families, this led to us creating Britannica Travels branded by Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd in 2018 which will focus on non religious related travel around the world.
Our experience has also taught us what people like when travelling and whether you’re religious or not – everyone seems to want one thing, Holiday that leaves them feeling rejuvenated!!!
OUR SERVICE
Al-Hijaz (Tours & Travels) Ltd is Fully Licensed by the Ministry of Haj & Umrah in taking pilgrims from the United Kingdom to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Please note that we strongly believe that it’s Quality not Quantity that makes a memorable experience and so we only take a limited number of people each year.
