A great hotel in all aspects and during Haj time with all the crowdness the service remained A -class. A great reason for such Review is also Ismail Omar the Restaurant manager who is a great example of work devotion and guest service. He has demonstrated many qualities in tough times how to handle the guests kindly with a smile, while dealing with a crisis effectively in no time leading his team in person working hand in hand. I have rarely seen such caliber in this area with such professional attitude. The restaurant and food are among the best things in hotel, however the hotel overall is of great service and value. Keep it up and take care of your good people. 👏👍

We were visiting from the USA, and our experience at Swissôtel Makkah was truly outstanding. The highlight of our stay was the incredible hospitality we received — especially from Mr. Sakeer, the assistant manager, whom we had the pleasure of interacting with during the daily dining. He was incredibly welcoming, always checking in to see if everything was okay, asking if we needed anything, and offering to help in any way he could. His warm personality and attentiveness really made a difference and left a lasting impression on us.
The buffet meals for both breakfast and dinner were phenomenal — so much variety, consistently delicious food, and the dessert bar was next-level. Even during the busiest times, there was always plenty to choose from, and the staff worked tirelessly to keep everything well-stocked and fresh.
The rooms were beautiful and comfortable, and the in-room Adhan system was such a thoughtful touch that enhanced the spiritual experience of our trip. And of course, the location — 0 meters from Masjid al-Haram — couldn’t have been more perfect. Even in the busiest foot traffic during Hajj season, I always appreciated the location of my hotel as I knew that in just a few more feet I would be home.
Every part of our stay reflected high-quality service, genuine care, and great attention to detail. We’re so grateful for the hospitality we received and would definitely return again.

My stay at Swissôtel Makkah was one of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed by the front desk agent Ahmed Al Amri, who was highly professional and made the check-in process smooth and quick. He was very responsive and answered all my questions with a smile, reflecting the excellent hospitality of the hotel.
I stayed in room 1223, and when it comes to cleanliness and in-room service, I would like to give special thanks to Ammar Aref from the housekeeping department. He was very attentive to the room’s cleanliness on a daily basis, paying attention to the smallest details. His attitude was respectful and polite, and he was always ready to assist with anything I needed—always with a smile and prompt service.
along with the high-level services, made this stay truly unforgettable. I highly recommend Swissôtel Makkah to anyone looking for comfort, quality, and exceptional hospitality.

I recently stayed at this hotel in Makkah during the last ten days of Ramadan, and it was a wonderful experience! The hotel’s service was exceptional, and the rooms were spotless. What made my stay truly memorable was a special surprise for Mother’s Day. My sister, who wasn’t with us, called the hotel from Jeddah to arrange a surprise cake for my mother and me. The customer service representative, Mr. Fares Alhazmi, handled the request with such grace and didn’t charge anything for it! The cake was beautiful, and the gesture was incredibly touching. I also want to extend my thanks to the hotel manager, Mr. Faisal, for his attentive service. The junior suite was spacious, comfortable, and offered great privacy with two bathrooms. Overall, an excellent stay

Spacious rooms and toilets.
Good service.
Close proximity to haram 😊
Wonderful and large variety of food in buffet.
One thing which needs to be included is an extra bed for family of four. As sofa-cum-bed was not so comfortable. I hope management will look into this and will be resolved on my next visit 😜
Well done team!!!

We wanted to check out at 2:30 pm because we had an intention to pray inside haram.
Requested the room staff and they were more than happy to say ok.
It was a different feeling here.

I don’t know how this hotel has a 4.5 stars.. this was so expensive for finding mold in the bathrooms (video and picture) the bed is not comfortable, there is a beep sound in every floor and they don’t turn off at night time ( video). And when we asked them to turn off they said it’s like this and they can’t do nothing. It beeps every 10-20 seconds.. you can’t sleep.. Also the windows are so dirty that you can’t see anything outside ( picture).. the minimum you should keep are things cleaned.. the safe was also locked and not working, so we didn’t want housekeeping since we had our passports in the room.. we contacted them, they could not fix and that’s it.. it’s broken. The inclusive dinner does not even include soda.. only water!
I have nothing good to say. Even the short distance is not worth the money they charge.
There are better options around.
Sanitary and health services should be contacted for these molds..
True 5 star hotels would never be like this one. This hotel needs urgent updates..
And do you know what answer you get from them? Literally nothing! Any hotel that is 5 star would make sure things like these are working and cleaned and would at minimum provide 5 star Costumer service. I don’t know how they have a license to advertise they are 5 star hotel. That should be illegal

First I have to mention that The receptionist of this hotel Rania was the nicest receptionist I have ever encountered at a hotel. She was always friendly and asked how our stay was going every time we walked in the door. She also was able to recommend places to get any type of meal that we needed as well. Second this is a luxurious hotel! It’s clean and has a lot of comfort items to make you feel at home. I was in town for a stressful event and coming back to this hotel’s room was very peaceful.

However compared to the money being paid, the rooms are small and the bathroom even smaller. The shower area is so small that a claustrophobic person would never get in there. The bathroom really needs working on considering the fact that this is a 5 star hotel. And the service isn't great. They have so many guests checking in every day and I guess this makes them indifferent or too tired to be hospitable to each guest.

The location is great. The hotel has two entrances one to the Haram with special entrance and the other to the street where you find taxis are waiting you. All service was top notch. Quadruple room with Kaaba view was spacious and tidy with most essentials provided for a family of 5. The bed is big, I loved it the most. Breakfast food was incredible with variety of choices; top management was also around to make sure everything was okay. I would like to thank Mr. Rakan at the reception desk for his welcoming and attitude. Loved our stay here!

Stayed here in 2017, was travelling with elderly parents to perform Umrah. The hotel was just brilliant, the location was around 300 yards from the Haram and ideal for the elderly travelling to and from the Haram performing the Umrah Rituals.
The cleanliness of the accommodation and facilities were next to none. We had a room facing the Kabbah, what an amazing sight that was!
The buffet breakfast, “Well what can I say! The variety was amazing. I don’t think I could identify all the dishes they were so plentiful.
If shopping is a key feature of you pilgrim then rest assured you won’t get a better hotel than this! The back exit goes straight into the clock tower mall.
Hopefully will be blessed to visit again soon!

Very convenient location close to Haram, very helpful and friendly staff, we were given Haram faced room without any extra charges a lovely view. Room are big and especially the luggage box room is very handy as it keeps your room clear of suitcases. Bath and toilets are very clean and spacious.
Only one area where there is room for improvement. The breakfast buffet has plenty of different items but if you are from South Asian subcontinent, then you will feel disappointed because mainly the dishes are either Arabic and some European. Also when it was busy, there was problem to find cutlery like teaspoons resulting in cold tea.
Overall a very good hotel and recommended to visit again.

It's fine but a 5-star hotel, this ain't. It's fine if all you need is a comfy bed to sleep in and a clean room to relax in. It's not luxury but it's good.
The room feels awfully dim because of the lack of any lights in the ceiling. But I can tell they put in the work to keep it clean so that's good.

Very disappointed with the hotel. Definitely not 5 star standard. I would rate this hotel overall 3 star.
The room space is very tight. Furniture is very out dated and looks tacky and cluttered.
On arrival, floor looked dirty, like it hadn't been hoovered in so many days. Bed sheets were stained and pillow had a big boggie on it 🤢.
The next day, house keeping came to the room. We asked them to do the usual cleaning and to change the bed sheets. We also reported the blocked sink. They quickly unblocked the sink, gave us some water bottles and toilet rolls then sprayed air freshener in the room and left. We had to call them back, and asked them to change the covers. The cleaners were not happy about this. They showed so much attitude like they did not want to be doing their job even though we we were so nice to them and did not even complain about all the mess and dirt in our room.
This is not the kind of service we expect from a 5 star hotel.

The flushes constantly stop working. maintainence staff doesnt show up to fix it. they expect you to stay in your room the entire day so they can do basic bathroom maintainence at a random time of their choosing. After starting the process from approx 7 am of complaining about the bathroom at 10 in the night i had a break down. Mr Khalid the manager was patronizing and rude. other guests had to step in to help with getting me some attention. important to note arabic speaking men spoke up because that was the only way mr khalid gave any attention. This by far has been a horrible stay. one comes for prayer and peace all i got was racism and sexism from mr khalid and his team.
There are many more hotels in this area dont waste your spiritual journey by staying here.

Considering the reputation and the price I paid for my stay, I had expected a higher level of service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, these issues with the air conditioning, side lamp, and TV reception left me disappointed.
In conclusion, my experience at this well-known hotel was far from what I had anticipated. The malfunctioning air conditioning system, faulty side lamp, and poor TV channel reception significantly impacted the quality of my stay. I hope that my feedback is taken seriously by the hotel management, and they work towards enhancing their services to provide a more enjoyable experience for their guests in the future.

Excellent overall experience, would recommend. The check-in, check-out was efficient. The hotel staff was also kind and accommodated our room request for adjoining rooms on shorter notice. Rooms were clean, properly air-conditioned, good amenities. The breakfast buffet also offered a variety of food. Location was convenient and very quick to use elevators to exit and enter. Only thing was one room was quite cold and the thermostat could not be adjusted, but did not detract from comfort much. Insh’Allah would choose to stay here next time as well.

The only good thing about this property is the location. The rest everything makes it even less than 3 star hotel.
Room was super dirty and was so smelly.
Beds were so much uncomfortable.
Bathrooms were having such a disgusting smell.
Only cigarette 🚬 smell was keep coming everywhere.
There's no towel in the washroom. Upon asking the Housekeeping team working in the corridors they said, what to do it's supervisor mistake he didn't check the room.
Check in process was so time taking even though there's no rush. Only 1 person was ahead of us but the staff was so "lazy" and was not paying attention.
Check in staff didn't provide us with the room keys / card and asked the bell boy to drop us to the room.
Bell boy opened the room with the master key and handed over the same to us - upon asking why master key, he smiled and went out of the room.
At the time of Check-out, the lady at the reception was shocked to see the master key and asked me how come I've that key - I explained all this to her.
Other than its great location, I didn't find any single value for money about this hotel.
If anyone from the management side wants to discuss more; I'm happy to share more as well.

The hotel location is priceless. Very close to the mosque, especially the women entrance. Rooms are spacious and super clean. Staff are super friendly and professional. I could not gave more than 2 stars because of the following:
1- room furniture's are old and aged.
2- toilets seems poorly maintained.
3- During breakfast, the served orange juice was expired. I informed the staff at the restaurant two times few minutes apart and kept watching and waiting for their action to remove the juice containers but they didn't.
4- shower cabin was too small.
5- the hotel strangely designed for small size short Asian guests. I am not that tall guy! I am 190 cm tall. The ceiling height is low i could touch the ceiling while walking in the hotel corridors. I had to really bow down to open the door as the door knob is close to my knees. Toilet basin and commod were very low.
Great Service, 5 star hospitality, incredibly helpful & responsive. Tailored a package that perfectly met our needs.

The accommodation they selected were top-notch & exactly what we was looking for. They also provided great recommendations for activities & restaurants in the area.
From transportation to tours, everything was well-organised & hassle free.
I would highly recommend this travel agency to anyone looking to book their next vacation. I will definitely be using them for all my future travel needs. Thank you for an unforgettable experience!

Realised pretty quickly our mindset had to change, this isn’t like a normal holiday that you’ve spent a huge amount of money on. This whole journey is a test THERE WILL BE DIFFICULTIES IN HAJJ so be warned most definitely your patience will be tested you’ve have been invited by the Almighty to perform Hajj so go with zero expectations. Again this isn’t like a holiday where you spent thousands so you demand & expect an equally high level of service. Things will go wrong, travel logistics will change this is test on how you react when they do. You spend 15K then demand that Allah swt forgives all your sins at hajj. Even if you spent 100k your money would never be worthy of having your sins forgiven.
Alhamdullilah changing my mindset to this ensured I had a Fantastic experience with excellent levels of service and attention to detail from Al Bait guests. Would definitely recommend.

We are doing Hajj this year and Hijaz is the partner Nusuk paired us with. I would highly recommend prospective pilgrims to avoid them. There is lack of accountability, communication and organization. I understand hajj poses a lot of logistical challenges due to sheer number of people but that is no excuse for leaving pilgrims in limbo. Just a couple examples: When our flight reached Miqat 20-30 minutes before Jeddah, the pilot announced that we had just passed the miqat point. People were shy to start the Talbiya (Labbayk) and the guides sit there like everybody else. Few minutes later, a passenger took it upon himself walking down the aisle saying Talbiya aloud and encouraging others to join in. When we were doing the umrah the first night we arrived in Makkah, the “religious scholar†they appointed to lead the group in umrah said we are going to offer Tahiyyatul Masjid salah before starting the tawaf which is exactly what many books and workshops I attended said not to do. He later was corrected by someone in the group. Due to lack of communication and planning, lots of people from our group missed staying the night of 11 DhulHajj in Mina and were stuck in Makkah hotels because there was no transportation arrangement. They waited until 11pm to let some people know an alternative way to get to Mina. Those who tried spent the next 5-6 hours trying to get to Mina. Also, instead of communicating these transportation options in the Telegram groups for everyone’s benefit they just announced it one of the hotel lobbies for anyone who might be there. People were desperately asking questions on the group and were ignored. They removed the ability to post text messages to the Telegram group chats in the middle of the hajj. Arafat was another story with many people passing out due to non working A/C in the tents. No transportation was provided on 10th or 11th of DH from Mina or Jamarat back to Hotels. Again, may be understandable due to logistical challenges but there were no communication on what alternatives are there until it was too late. On top of 15,000 we spent on the hajj package people had to pay exorbitant taxi fares to get to and from Mina. It is very clear to me that the guides are not good communicators and they don’t take responsibility.
Looks like most Hajj related 5 star comments are from 2022 and because they issued a full refund when people could not go.

I went to Hajj 2023 with Hijaz Travel, and I’m posting a five star review specifically because of Sisters Azra and Salina, and Brothers Kabir/Toufayel. My elderly mother became extremely extremely unwell on Arafat and I knew that I had to get her all the way back to her Makkah accommodations as soon as possible. Not only did they take my mothers condition seriously, they waited with us for hours to make sure we could get back from this restricted area to Makkah. They were also kind and gentle with us the entire time. I will never forget especially how Sister Azra was there for us in our time of need.

We registered ourselves for hajj last year but due to the change made by Saudi government, we couldn't go. Hijaz was open about the situation and refunded us immediately after they have confirmed the news. It must be hard for them. May Allah open other doors for Hijaz team.

Alhamdolilah Allah made possible for me and wife to perform Umrah thanks to Hijaz Travel last year in October. For someone who is from North Africa that speaks only Arabic and English my experience was excellent 10/10. Special thanks to Shabbir, Tofayl, Akheel, and the other Bengali brother who went above and beyond Masha’Allah. Going definitely with them again for either another umrah or Haj Insha’Allah. highly recommend. I was worried that because I don’t speak neither Urdu or Bengali that I might find it difficult to coupe with them but Alhamdolilah all went well and here is my experience:
Started the process and once I provided them all the documents I was informed on every step needed or actioned by them. Very professionals Masha’Allah.
Once dates were confirmed, a WhatsApp group was formed to keep those going up to date on each step. This was very useful as we kept using WhatsApp throughout the journey even after we arrived back to the UK.
We had a plan every day and the leaders made sure their group was informed and kept up to date.
Now there are few things I want to highlight to Hijaz Travel for the sake of improvement for the future Insha’Allah:
1- it would be better if in Mekka before starting the umrah, for everyone to have the same colour in the form of a bag or something so that the group wouldn’t separate or get lost and follow the leader/group. Some of the brothers like Akheel ( having orange bag ) and another brother ( sorry I forgot your name) who handed couple of green bags helped a lot when doing the Tawaaf as it was easy to identify everyone from the group.
2- when doing Tawaaf please bear with the sisters brothers and don’t rush. Some of the brother/leaders did stay behind to help the sisters which was very much appreciate it.
3- when doing the visits there was both Bengali and English translation but Bengali translation was more favourable.
4- because I was the only native Arabic speaking person in the group, I was approached few times by the hotel staffs both in Makkah and Madenah who raised few things that it bothered them. These are as follows:
- when checking in/out please stay in group and don’t block the entrance.
- when the bus arrive to pick the group, leaders should identify which bus it is for which group first before telling everyone busses are here! This caused issue as some of the group and staff had to put the heavy suitcases in the first bus, then they were told to remove it all and put it in the second bus.
- shouting, arguing and fighting specially in Madinah. people in Madinah are very friendly and they are soft spoken. The hotel manager told me personally “ this is not a Wednesday market, people should not speak that loudly and shout over little thingsâ€
5- this one is for the individual/group who are going for the umrah, yes I’m talking about you who are reading this review, please do not do the following when in Saudi:
- when heading for visits ( Zeyarah), Makkah or Madinah the bus will make short/medium stops to rest or view the visit (e.g. Uhud mountain) the leaders will make it very clear how much time you are allowed to take e.g. 15/30 minutes, you will find people selling all sort of things and you will be tempted to buy few things for your family and friends which you are allowed to BUT do not make everyone waits for you! Just be reasonable.
- you are there for a specific purpose to perform umrah/haj. Be prepared to be out of your comfort zone as you might be tired or sleepy and must push forward, please try to make all your prayers at the masjid on time and don’t miss any prayers and du’ua when possible.
- buying gifts for family and friends are often cheaper around those visits places that you will attend so have a little bit of patience.
- bring bottle of waters with you, backpack and some sunglasses You will thank me later
- if you need to wash/dry clean your clothes there are plenty of places in both site who would do that for fair price Ask the hotel or you might see them outside your hotel giving cards.
That is all from my end. Thank you regards Abdullahi

Very efficient. Very professional service. Good communication
Sadly due to the new Hajj rules that came in very late in 2022, we were unable to proceed with our Hajj with Hijaz however they made the communications to us very detailed and also swiftly refunded the money without any hesitations.
Many travellers and agents were effected by the new rules that Saudi introduced (the need to book directly with online system) however despite this set back, Hijaz communicated the situation with me and also refunded our deposit.
I will use again for other travels in future inshallah
