Rooms were clean and Masjid Al Nabawi was very close only 5 min walk. However, the room was very noisy because the window wasn't sound proof and there was a loud fan outside which kept me awake on the first night in the hotel as I couldn't sleep. I went downstairs to ask for help with the issue but the staff were very rude in their response and did not do anything useful. The noise stayed. Read less

Awful customer service , not safe for women as a mother I was reassured by reception/ manager my young daughters single would be safe on a different floor. They were harassed by room service staff, their doors were knocked for no reasons other than to speak to them my complaints were not taken seriously , as a Brit I feel disappointed that I felt unsafe in such a holy land because of the staff in this hotel. I wanted the police involved but all I got was a sloppy excuse and a text message from allegedly HQ tht the room service staff member wld be moved to another floor !! My point was tht he and other staff kept knocking on my single daughters door and asking irrelevant questions I also saw him enter another female guest room who seemed anxious upon asking her as she was also British and she told me she did not ask him or want him in her room but he seemed to enter .The chef was. sleaze , I watched him looking at young girls in a very inappropriate way when he thought no one looking . This is when I alerted reception for the 3rd time but still police were not called . If anyone as self respect for their women folk do not use this hotel . I wld rather pay more and go upon reccomadation anywhere close by as the location was perfect . Read less

Also, they use a scenting device and the aroma is bad and can cause allergy. The breakfast also isn't good and doesn't seem to be fresh. Well, to be fair, the location is great and the bed was comfy. I like this hotel because the staff is very friendly. For that reason I gave it four stars. However this is the second time I have stayed at this hotel and this time the cleanliness was a bit wanting, though when we requested room service to clean up they were extremely fast in responding to our request. Also I will recommend them to improve the quality ofthe food. I found it too salty and rather too greasy but still edible! Would I go again, most definitely. Read less

Lacked enough towels and mattresses were a little poor. AC was temperamental in one section of the room. With it being so close, I'd come again. Read less

My family and I stayed at Golden Tulip Al Mektan Hotel in Medinah in February. I am appalled at the ridiculously poor customer service we recieved at the hotel in Medinah. We have no drinking water in 3 of our rooms that we were staying in. We had raised this with the team and management a number of times who assured us this would be resolved, the manger at the hotel did absolutely nothing along with their staff. The manager at this hotel was very rude and unprofessional. The lobby staff behind the desk were always too busy watching videos on their phones to help us and ignored us when we asked for help. The rooms were not ready when we checked in and one of our rooms smelt of cigarettes smoke. None of our rooms have been cleaned since we checked in. Very few of the staff spoke a word of English and it is impossible to communicate with them as they don't even speak bengali or Urdu. One of the bell boys also followed my family member to her room asking for money, this was not acceptable at all!!! They should be ashamed of yourselves for this despicable hotel and service you trade. I will never be booking a stay at one of your hotels. I did complain to the hotel company directly but they didn't bother replying. Avoid this hotel at all cost. Read less
