Praise be to Allah who blessed us with the opportunity to perform Hajj. We stayed at Al Shohada Hotel in Makkah, and all praise is due to Allah — we were surrounded by comfort provided by all the staff, whether at reception, in the restaurant, or in room service.
What truly made me happy, however, was seeing the hotel management present everywhere — from the reception hall to the restaurants — ensuring food quality and outstanding service, walking through the corridors to inspect cleanliness and how the rooms were being cleaned, and reviewing even the smallest details to guarantee the comfort of the guests.
This was my first encounter with Mr. Mohamed Taha, who was personally checking the readiness of the rooms. When I asked one of the staff members about him, I was told he is the General Manager of the hotel — this increased my respect and admiration for the place I was staying in.
For this reason, I wanted to thank all the hotel staff, and especially the management who trained their employees in the right way, so they treat the guests as if they were part of their own family.
Thank you Mr. Mohamed Taha and Mr. Khaled Al Shanbari. I also won’t forget to thank the restaurant management — Mr. Nasser Abu Deeb, Mr. Ahmad Salama, Chef Mohsen, Chef Hatem, and Chef Adel.
Wishing everyone continued success and progress always.

Check in and check out was fast and smooth
15-20 mins walk to kaaba
Rooms are good, need more toilet papers in the bathroom ,they only put one roll.
The hotel mosque doesn’t follow the haram prayers which made us sad a little.
The Rooms doesn’t have the haram speakers ,only in the hallways
After maghrib prayer they offer very good arabic coffee in the lobby and dates.
Overall experience was very good.

Stayed there for one night and left because of rude attitude and decided to move to Elaf Kinda which was Alhamdulillah a best decision. Facilities, rooms, equipment etc. are good but front desk service staff as other people also responded they don't know how to welcome or deal with guests. Will not recommend due to rude attitude of staff specially Arabic lady and the Arab man at the front desk/reception.

It has been 2 days and they haven’t made up the room/ changed the sheets/ emptied the bins. I thought I would spend extra since I’m coming with my parents to perform Umrah. Food is mid too.

A very disappointing experience, in terms of looks and feel the hotel is nice. The lobby always smells nice when entering and there are several lifts to get you to the required floor. The biggest disappointment has been the actual rooms, the electricity has been deliberately wired in a way to make it hard for people to sleep or charge their devices. This means in order to have power to the sockets and charge your devices, you will need to keep the rooms lights on, obviously this makes it so uncomfortable after a long day in the masjid, you just want to come back and relax with just one lamp on and devices on charge to communicate with your loved ones. We also had several issues with our bathroom, with clogged shower & sink drain, and toilet flushing issues. To top it off we had some water leak in the bathroom from the roof, this had me worried as I did not know if this water is clean or not, and could it get mixed electrical wiring and cause a fire. This is clearly not a 5 star hotel more like a 3/4 star. The hotel chain should be ashamed of making things difficult for the guests of Allah, instead of making things easier. Electrical charging points should be a standard feature in any hotel chain, never mind one that classes itself as 5 star. The beds are smaller than expected, especially when compared to the single beds we had at Pullman Zam Zam Makkah. The location is great as it is only 3-4 mins to get to the masjid and is ideal for ladies as it closer to their entry points by gate 339. Unfortunately I would NOT use this hotel again, purely because of the deliberate inconvenience it has caused with its intentional electrical wiring design.

I really enjoyed my stay here. The room was booked for 3 people and all three beds were comfortable. The location was great, you cross the road and the woman’s gate is right there which was super convenient. Plenty of shops around for food/shopping. Breakfast was okay, could be better in terms of variety but not that bad. The hotel is easily accessible for uber which made travelling further out convenient. The staff were lovely and helpful. I would recommend this hotel especially if you are travelling with a lot of women.

While my stay wasn’t bad, I was shocked to discover that the hotel used my name to post a detailed positive review on Booking.com—something I never wrote! (Screenshot of the review they wrote is attached here). This is completely unacceptable and has never happened to me before. It raises serious concerns about how they maintain such a high rating (9 on Booking.com) despite being a fairly average hotel. If this is how they operate, I cannot recommend them.

This place is inside the ring road. Attitude of reception and security is bad. The property insists on payment even if you have the option of free cancellation after so many days claiming they don't have the option of getting the payment using the credit card. They agree to provide you with free parking and turn a deaf ear once you reach. Housekeeping people are dedicated to their work. Walkability to the masjid and to the female praying area are a huge bonus. Asian food options outside the property are too bad.

Pros: Close to Alharam and the food was nice.
Cons: " we can't do anything currently since we are at max. capacity so deal with that for couple of days" is the standard response of the reception staff for any problem.. The room was small and elevators are not efficient so if you are not a fan of using stairs then this place is not for you..

The rooms don't have charger outlets and for those which are having lamps, if you put your charger it will stop charging once you switch off the lights.
Ongoing noises coming from the AC vents, room door malfunction noise, water pipe bubbling from the toilet, it's like you are sleeping in a haunted hotel, once you go out of the room it looks good.
The buffet was good, but not authentic cuisine, they had hummus which was not atlal authentic, seemed like you are eating something else .
Like who goes wrong with the humus when the chef is arab .
Overall food was good .

This hotel doesn’t deserve a single star. Very old furniture and beds squeaking every time someone moves. Bad smell in the bathroom and room wasn’t clean when we got there. Rather than changing the room the kept us 1 hour waiting. The only good thing is the location to Haram but better avoid it as there are plenty of other hotels in the area. Don’t be tempted by the pictures and the price. Not worth it at all.

We used Hajj and Umrah Express back in October to plan an Umrah trip for April. Everything was done incredibly quickly and efficiently. All my needs and requirements were listened to, and we got everything we wanted.
As for our trip, alhamdulillah it was the smoothest journey. Taha was constantly in touch with us regarding our flights, when we landed, providing advice, bookings on the nusuk app and transport between each city and the airports. We didn't have to worry about anything as it was all sorted for us.
This really was such an unforgettable experience, and having the company do the admin work for you, made a huge difference. Alhamdulillah would absolutely use them again, and will be recommending them to everyone who wants to go. They have loads of packages available but you can also tailor your own personalised one.
Very grateful to Taha for making my du'a an effortless reality.

This umrah agent was recommended by my brother as he’s been travelling with them for some years. I was a bit unsure as there seemed to be a lack of clarity about exact details of the package, but I went ahead so I could accompany my brother. In the end, I was very impressed at how smoothly the trip went. I have been blessed to make umrah several times before, so I can say that H&U Express did a great job with flights, hotels and transport. I was especially happy with the hotels and how quickly we were able to check in. My wife and daughters were also highly satisfied with the package. We chose not take part in any of the tours, so I cannot comment there.
One recommendation is that it should be made clear where we should meet the tour guide when first arriving at the airport.
Our guide throughout the trip, Ali, was extremely polite and helpful. Jazakallah khairah to him (and to Taha) for making this a positive experience.

Alhamdulillah, second, I thank Sheikh Mahdi for teaching us the importance of our deen and giving us the best experience. You taught us that 'This religion did not come easy.' The knowledge and the history that you made us see of our Beloved Prophet S.A.W. were really emotional and educational. You made this trip a memorable one. Big shout out to Sheikh Mahdi who made this Umrah my most memorable yet. From the time we arrived in Medina, he greeted us with a huge smile and truly felt like we were under his care throughout the time we were with him.
Sheikh impressed upon us a few key themes throughout our Umrah which helped to focus our reflections during our journey. One of these reflections and was Gratitude. Every interaction with the Sheikh involved the dhikr of Alhamdulillah and with it our appreciation of the blessings of Allah upon us.
Sheikh Mahdi was always so quick to offer help. The day we arrived we had an issue with some of our luggage going missing at the airport. With a big reassuring smile Sheikh assured us "this, this is not be a problem", and before the day was out the luggage was back with us, Alhamdulillah.
We also greatly enjoyed the extended ziyaraat that the Sheikh organised for us, taking us to areas surrounding Medina and Makkah that we had not visited on our previous trips. The Sheikh brought these places alive with stories from the Seerah of our beloved Prophet SAW.
Overall the journey has been amazing and I look forward to booking future travels with Hajj and Umrah Express

The key takeaway from my Umrah trip was that "This religion did not come easy" and truly under the guidance of Sheikh El Mahdi, his wisdom and gems and all the places we visited in Makkah, and especially in Medinah, this stuck with me. The second was, what do we as Muslims do and what are we offering of ourselves for our religion? Listening to the talks, and having the space to reflect was a great addition to the trip itself.
For my first umrah, I am very happy to have chosen Hajj & Umrah Express, Brother Taha was very supportive from the onset and quick with answering questions I had at any time. I was able to organise the whole trip just through chat on WhatsApp. The only point to mention in this regard to make the experience better would be receiving details earlier (hotels etc.) Having said this, the call prior to the trip with Sheikh was very useful in providing the need to know details as well as the whatsapp group chat which is still active! The group was lovely too.
Sheikh was amazing ALHAMDULLILAH. From saying alhamdullilah, to reciting Labbaik in the most soothing voice, to guiding us through the first umrah as a group, having conversations, ice cream, his humour and recommendations for gifts - he truly made the journey special. The places we visited made the experience richer such as Uhud, Badr, Masjid Quba, Camels 🐫 and Sand Dunes to name some.
Feedback: Being able to spend more time at the places in Makkah as we got delayed in starting the tour that day.
- provide recommendations for places to visit /areas of interest during free days
- Booking the Rawda: was recommended the evening slot but from experience and talking to others, for women early morning slots are quieter and less rushed (please recommend early morning for ladies in future)
Overall, glad to have completed my first umrah trip with Sheikh and H&UE and I will definitely recommend to others.😊 Alhamdullilah

Just want to start off by saying thank you to
Sheikh EL Mahdi For making my journey possible and for making me in to a better Muslim, and more of an knowledgeable person in our religion, with his experience and knowledge, he really did teach me a lot about our journey and have our religion has suffered to get to this point. with such a large group, he did give individual attention and care when needed.
He definitely deserves all the coffee that he gets on this trips
Just want to start off by Palestine (Jerusalem) wow such a magical place the knowledge that was given to us about the old city was amazing, I loved this place so much thinking to go back at the end of year , our accommodation was perfect, clean rooms, home-cooked, food and breakfast was was wonderful, it’s run by local people which made me feel at home, friendly and welcoming
Next step Mecca
Again Sheikh EL Mahdi who was really helpful to me throughout the process of my umra. Our hotel was amazing convenient to get it anywhere you like , the view for my room was amazing , breakfast was delicious and so many options. Couldn’t ask for anything more from this part of our journey, and at this point our group felt like a family , which felt beautiful.
Last stop Medina
Again, our accommodation was perfect, easy to get to to everywhere you like , the staff are friendly and very helpful , rooms were very clean. We did have a day trip with the group and again, the knowledge that was given to us was priceless. I learnt so much about our religion and I didn’t know.
Overall, if I could give 10 stars, i loved every minute of my journey with is this establishment?and I would definitely go again,
Just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for making it possible to have such a beautiful experience on the spiritual journey

Hajj and Umra Express also known as Travel Express has been around for 35 years. They know how to compile Holy tours in and out of Makkah and Medina and to make sure that your spiritual journey is made memorable and a once in a lifetime experience.
