Loved our visit to makkah. Stayed in emaar grand hotel. Group of 9. Everything was good. Just needed some toilet tiles work. The rest is 5*.
Would visit again.

I recently stayed at the Emaar Grand Hotel in Mecca, booking a room advertised for five people. Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing, and I cannot recommend this hotel to anyone, especially larger groups.
The room itself was incredibly tight for five beds. We were practically on top of each other, and there was barely any space to move around or store our belongings comfortably. This lack of space made our stay very uncomfortable and frankly, quite stressful.
Beyond the cramped quarters, the room service was also severely lacking. On multiple occasions, we tried to contact room service, but the phone simply went unanswered. This made it impossible to request basic necessities or address any issues we had.
Considering the high price we paid for this hotel, the level of service and the size of the room were completely unacceptable. It felt like we were significantly overcharged for a very poor experience.
If you are planning a trip to Mecca and require accommodation for more than a couple of people, I strongly advise you to look elsewhere. The Emaar Grand Hotel's cramped rooms and unreliable service are not worth the money or the frustration. Save yourself the disappointment and book a different hotel.

The only nice thing about the hotel is its interior. The hotel facilities were rubbish. The shower cubicle wouldn’t close properly and the water would wet the whole floor in the bathroom. The hair dryer in the bathroom has such low power that it will take you an hour to dry your long hair with it. The bathroom plumbing was horrific, whenever you run water you can smell of the gutter. The room ventilation system seems like it hasn’t been cleaned in years and would definitely make you sick!
The place just looks fancy from the interior used but has little to no facilities available. Breakfast was super bland and basic. Didn’t enjoy it at all.

Breakfast was good as we had breakfast included in our booking
I'll consider other options (distance from Haram and room service), before booking it again.

I am currently staying here and as I am writing this review i’m waiting for maintenance to come because my room power keeps stopping. We have only been here for two days tonight being the third and i am just honestly so ready to go home, which is upsetting.
1) the rooms are decent sized, as far as i know. our room was for three people so there were three beds. Very standard. However, the windows are broken and you can hear EVERYTHING outside.
2) the toilet smells and is always 24/7 hot. It’s very tight and cramped. and once again like every other review we were only given two towels despite being three people. Normally hotels i’ve been to you get at least two towels per person the second one being a smaller towel??!
3) THE LIFTS. If you want clarity and a peace of mind please don’t even consider booking here! There are so many lifts but there are WAYY MORE people. You can wait for the lift for almost 1 HOUR
4) Lastly the distance. It’s not worth your money it’s a long walk and isn’t “5 minutes”!
All in all i definitely will not be staying here the only bonus points is the staff excluding reception!

The location is about 7-8 mkns walks from the entrance of haram gate 79 .
The hotel itself looks very presentable but rooms are very dated and need refurbishment. Frontbif house need better Customer service skills especially the lady at reception who when posed with a problem seems to uses gestures and arrogance as her way to deal with issues.
The gentlemen and the service guys are very helpful and pleasant.
Having stayed for a few days with several problems and then room changes this seemed to be common as many other guests had the same issue and same broken promises. For a hotel with ample rooms it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered.
Broken telephones broken lights , lack of facilities and 1 iron to use amongst the hundreds of rooms and you won't get one for 3 days and even then you only can use for 1 hr, constant trips to reception but all broken false promises.
The good things about the place is it is value for money and you could see that once upon a time it was 5 star but now pushing 3 stars. The location is on Ibrahim al khalil St with plenty of food and shopping available nearby.

Alhamdulillah We arrived on the 24th July 2023 from Malaysia. The lady reception is really nice and polite. She makes the check in process really straight foward and fast for me and my father. May Allah ease her life. The breakfast is good. The hotel is around 10-12 minutes to Haram. Room is big and toilet is clean.Aircond is superb. Wifi also very fast. Im grateful to found this hotel even is not like the nearest or higher star to masjid..
Its still a good and clean room. Also theres a lot of shop/food along the way to hotel from masjid. So you wont be feel like walking far. InsyaAllah will come back.

To be honest when I read the reviews of this hotel I had a different image in my head. But my stay proved the reviews wrong. It was a lovely hotel. House keeping were 5 âï¸. Always helpful, gave everything i needed. Cleaned the room when I asked. Like I said housekeeping were just GREAT. The location of the hotel was in the BEST place. Everything in my convenience and the best thing was that it was just a 10min walk to haram shareef. I will give it 5/5

Terrible service and hotel management.
Booked a 4 persons room, it was terrible as the beds were laid out in a very awkward position that left no other space in the hotel room, we barely had enough space to open our suitcases.
The hotel management in general is poor, they don't clean the rooms properly. Everytime we ask for water bottles they either only give 2 or don't give any. We had a minor incident where we needed to check the CCTV footage for our floor, it took 3 days for us to finally get somewhere with this.
Hotel manager is rude and walked off as we were speaking to him. The reception staff again is incompetent and does not seem to care about anything.
The switches are really strange as the sockets are connected to the lights in the room, everytime u want to charge your phone etc u have to keep the light on which is really really strange.
The only thing that was decent was the food. Breakfast and dinner items are always fresh and they change the dishes they make quite often . The tables are cleaned frequently and food gets replenished every time it finishes.

Bathroom had mould and coffee area had sugar and dust all over. When we request to clean the room, everything was still there.
Receptionist lady at the Restaurant upstairs on Thursday 23rd February 2023 during dinner time was so rude. She doesn’t have basic manners. I asked nicely if they can heat my kids food, instead of refusing nicely, she pointed me to the door in front of everyone. SO RUDE!

Please don't waste your valuable money. Toilets are so dirty that we had to shift to another room but again no better! Overall, very very poor. Customer service was unacceptable. Also there is no WIFI connection only accessible in ground floor but no access in rooms, the food is quite acceptable Will never recommend this....

It's a 10-minute straight walk to harm. No uphill or downhill. So was comfortable for kids to walk.
They have a separate floor for a restaurant which we didn't use. Floor for Parking and a floor for Prayer hall.

This is a very good hotel compared to the other hotels in the vicinity. It’s located in Ibrahim Al Khalil street, about 1 Km walk from the Haram (about 15-20 minutes walk depending on your speed). I have booked a quad room. It was spacious, clean and doesn’t smell. It had street view, from the 8th floor, beds and linen were clean, bathroom was well maintained and clean. The room is spacious enough for the needs, there is a kettle and facility to make coffee, and there is a small fridge.
Electronic card keys work fine with no issues. There is a small wardrobe / hanger for clothes. The single beds and mattresses are comfortable. I would give this room / hotel an overall rating of 8/10. The reception staff are friendly and helpful. Check in was almost seamless with no issues.
It did take few minutes longer to check in more than necessary, but compared to other hotels in the region and previous experiences, it was really good.

There is two hotel towers we were in tower A so I don't know about tower B. From the outside, lobby restaurant tower A was 4 star but the room was a little 3 star - no carpet and the bathroom was not as modern for 4 star rating. Also there was no WiFi connection in the room even though we were 4 floors up - only in the lobby could you get a better connection. Breakfast buffet was good.

Only thing saving it is its location. Toilet was broken, took hours to fix delaying the whole day. Actual management and receptionist are completely rude and seem depressed. Hotel seems like it’s falling apart. The housekeeping staff are bengali, and so are nice and fine. If you are looking to only sleep and reply to the call nature here , this hotel is okay. Besides that, avoid.

Worst service ever. The ACs were not working and thr rooms were very suffocating. The staff are not hospitable and not accommodating at all. When we asked to fix the AC at first there was no one on the reception. Then they said that it ll be fixed at 9Am. The food was poor quality and the deserts were dry. The only good thing is the closeness to haram but you can say good bye to sleep. Oh and the pillows are really really hard and thick

I had one of the worst experiences staying at this hotel during Eid. Despite having a confirmed booking (with payment successfully processed), the hotel claimed they couldn’t find my reservation in their system when I arrived a few hours later than the check-in time.
I spent over 2 hours at the reception trying to prove my booking, but the staff were unhelpful and dismissive. Eventually, they told me my only option was to pay again – double the amount – if I wanted a room. Since it was close to Eid prayer time and I had no alternative, I was forced to pay.
To make things worse, the hotel manager was completely unreachable – ignoring both calls and messages when I tried to follow up on a refund. The customer service is appalling, and the staff lacked any professionalism or empathy.
Eid is meant to be a joyful time, but this hotel completely ruined the experience for me. I would strongly advise others to stay away from this place. Terrible management, terrible service, and zero accountability.

One of the worst hotels I have ever seen. Have us room 426, as soon as I walked in to the toilet it had a really nasty smell of people’s feces. The smell was really bad, it came out the air conditioner so air freshener did not work in this occasion.
The elevators take so long to come down and upstairs. The staff are not very helpful. When asked for WiFi they said I would find the password upstairs. Went upstairs, wifi details were not there.
This hotel is very disorganised. They cannot be giving a room with a bathroom that stinks and has issues, to people. After a long journey I just want to go to bed and sleep, I don’t have time and the energy to be chasing housekeepers and staff to fix and sort the issue. When I complained about it to the staff downstairs, he replied with ‘that’s fine I’ll be sending someone’ he did not ask about the room number which that’s where I knew he was not going to try to send someone over. I then asked him if he knew which room he was sending him in to see if he was actually going to do it. He said ‘yes’ and replied with a different number.
This is very frustrating as I should not be waiting around for staff to fix the issue. DO NOT, I REAPT, DO NOT GIVE A ROOM THAT IS NOT READY TO CLIENTS.
It’s absolutely disrespectful. Especially when you put your money and pay for a service. I should not be waiting around when I am shattered and exhausted from the journey.
Honestly, only day one and worst experience.

The hotel and rooms were clean, which I truly appreciated. However, there were some inconveniences that I believe could be improved.
The elevators were quite slow, leading to long queues, especially during before-after prayer time.
The room key had to be frequently reactivated at the reception, which was quite inconvenient as it required waiting in line again.
Unfortunately, I experienced an issue in my bathroom, where the water suddenly started flooding. However, I appreciate the prompt response from the management. A staff member came to fix the issue and clean the bathroom, which I am grateful for.
I hope the management takes these concerns into account to enhance the guest experience.

Alhamdulillah, I had the incredible blessing of performing Hajj with Zamzam Travels, and it was truly a wonderful and spiritually uplifting experience. I travelled with Brother Omar and Al Amin, and I can’t thank them enough for the care, guidance, and support they provided throughout the journey.
As a sister travelling for Hajj, I felt safe, supported, and respected at every stage. The organization and attention to detail were exceptional, from the accommodations and transportation to the religious guidance and group coordination. Brother Omar and Al Amin were always there with calm leadership and clear communication, making sure everything went smoothly for everyone.
Their sincerity and dedication made this journey even more special. It wasn’t just a trip—it was a transformative spiritual experience shared with a compassionate group and trustworthy guides.

I travelled for Umrah with my husband and our two daughters between 9–20 April with Zam Zam Travels, and I cannot praise them enough for the outstanding service we received from start to finish. I have travelled with them on two previous occasions and this was the third.
Like before on previous trips, from the moment we booked, Brothers Fahim and Sharif in the Birmingham office were incredibly supportive. They made sure we had all the information we needed, answered all our questions with patience and clarity, and helped us feel completely at ease ahead of our journey.
Once we arrived in Saudi Arabia, the care and support continued seamlessly. Brother Mahmood in Makkah and Brother Afsar in Madinah were both exceptional. They guided us through the completion of our Umrah as soon as we landed and offered continuous support to help us make the most of our time in Makkah and Madinah. Their knowledge, kindness, and dedication were truly appreciated. The Ziarats in both cities were especially moving and beautifully organised – a real highlight of the trip.
As a mother travelling with two daughters, I felt very reassured throughout. It was a deeply spiritual and memorable experience for our whole family, and a lot of that was down to the professionalism and warmth of the Zam Zam team.
Thank you so much — we look forward to booking our next trip with you again and highly recommend you to others planning their Umrah Hajj journey’s.

My family and I recently travelled for Umrah from 9–20 April through Zam Zam Travels, and I can honestly say the experience was exceptional from beginning to end. This was our second Umrah trip with Zam Zam, having also undertaken Hajj with them a while back too.
From the initial booking stage, Brothers Fahim and Sharif at the Birmingham office were incredibly professional and supportive. They made sure we had all the necessary information and documentation, and they were always available to answer our questions and put our minds at ease before travelling. Their attention to detail and warm approach gave us real peace of mind, especially with our tailored needs of dates and times of travel.
On the ground, the support continued with equal excellence. Brother Mahmood in Makkah and Brother Afsar in Madinah were both extremely helpful and approachable. From guiding us through the completion of our Umrah upon arrival to helping us maximise our time in both holy mosques, their knowledge and dedication made a big difference. The Ziarats in both cities were beautifully organised and added a deeply meaningful dimension to our trip, a useful and helpful reminder of the key historic sites and events in Islam.
As a parent, I really appreciated how smoothly everything ran. We were able to focus fully on our worship and spiritual experience without worrying about logistics. My family and I are truly grateful to Zam Zam Travels for helping us create another memorable and blessed moment.
Highly recommended — we would definitely travel with them again.

Alhamdulillah - just got back from our first Umrah Trip and it was wonderful from start to finish. Everything was seamless. Our leader (Abu Ubaydah) was so caring, thoughtful and inspiring. He was able to give us clear information on the Ziyaarats, check in on me and my family at various points throughout the trip and provide support whenever needed. The hotels were less than 5 mins walk from both Masjids and coaches were available when travelling certain distances. Inshallah we will be travelling with Zam Zam ltd. again in the future - Ameen. We have recommended this group to our relatives as well. We made great friends on the trip and as a first Umrah trip - it is experience I will treasure. May Allah (swt) bless you. Ameen.

Alhamdullilah, this was my first experience completing Umrah. I am so pleased to say that the whole journey was organised well, and ran smoothly day to day. Our group leader (Abu Ubaydah) was kind, considerate, thoughtful, and made sure to check in daily to see how we were feeling and doing. The ziyarats were completed via coach (as a group) and these were very insightful, but there was also opportunities to experience both Makkah and Madina independently from the rest of the team. As someone who can feel anxious about travelling, this truly was an incredible experience spiritually and I’m very thankful to Zam Zam ltd.
To mention also- the hotels at both locations were less than 2 minutes from the Haram and the Nabawi mosques, meaning we could access easily for prayers, and not get lost!! Alhamdullilah 🤲🏽

I have been to Umrah numerous times with Zam Zam Travels are trustworthy and outstanding. This time again, the services they provided were exceptional. From the preparation to the end of this spiritual journey – I was very impressed with them. Brother Sharif was very helpful and gave excellent service in the UK- He was very informative at all points of our preparations. Support was given in the whole e-visa process and managed to add my sister and my nephew at the last minute - Alhamdulillah. Reaching Jeddah, we were greeted at the airport, and Brother Mahmud got us to perform Umrah with ease. Brother Mahmud was understanding, supportive and always checked upon us. I wanted to do another Umrah and they provided information and supported me how to get to Masjid Aisha. The transition in going to Medina was done well as the transport was First Class. Brother Afsar was very helpful and always checked upon us, the organisation for the Ziyarat of the different Masjids in Madinah Munwarah were insightful and the Ziyarat to the Roza of the Muhammad S.A.W was done so efficiently that it was surreal. I would highly recommend Zam Zam Travels as they gave us excellent hotels which were very near to both Holy Places, the service provided was outstanding – will go again with them 😊. I am very grateful that they have made my dream come true and may Allah swt give them Barakah.

ZamZam Travels Ltd in conjunction with Al Rahji along with my family ruined a lot of peoples Hajj this year.
They had horrendous communication with us, even before we left for Hajj, we received our flight tickets for the Hajj the day before departure (16th June 2023). We then had to quickly organise transport to take us the 5hr journey to London Heathrow for the next day, upon arrival at the airport terminal there were no representatives from ZamZam Travels or Al Rajhi to be seen. This disorganisation continued for the whole duration of our Hajj journey. No one from ZamZam could be bothered to answer any of our questions while in Makkah.
Even during Hajj days itself in Mina and Arafat there seemed to be a complete lack of care towards us pilgrims especially the elderly and less abled, many were left to fend for themselves.
Transportation between hotels on our shifting package was also a complete shambles, we kept being told different times of when the coach would be arriving and in the end we paid for a taxi to take us and our luggage to the next hotel.
Overall, i would advise anyone looking to book a Hajj package in the future to check which companies the package is affiliated with and to avoid ZamZam/Al Rajhi as they showed a blatant disregard for the hujjaj and were just completely disrespectful and disappointing. Hopefully they can learn from they mistakes and improve.

Alhamdulillah, my husband and I had an amazing Hajj experience this year on an Al Rajhi package, which was managed by Zamzam travels. This was my first time going, and everything went smoothly. I couldn’t have asked for everything to go as smoothly as it did.
Alḥamdulillah we had everything we needed, but when we did need something, the Zamzam travels staff didn't let us down. I found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful.
I am very grateful to have booked an Al Rajhi package and not a package with other organisations like Al Bait who had both men and women free mixing in their tents whilst in Mina and Arafat.
Alhamdulillah, overall we had an amazing experience from start to finish and also met some lovely people along the way.
