We had a very good experience during Sahour, and I would like to thank Mohammed Sameer for his professional and friendly service. He was attentive and made sure everything was running smoothly. The hotel overall has an excellent location, and the bus services are very convenient. The Sky Musallah was a wonderful experience—a clean and well-organized space where they also provide some Iftar refreshments. It is also a very good option when the Holy Mosque gates are closed before prayer times. The room view was exactly what we were hoping for; however, the window glass was very dusty and dirty, with some bird droppings, which affected the clarity of the view. One of the windows also had a note stating it was not shaded. It would improve guest privacy if all windows were shaded so guests could comfortably open the curtains and enjoy the view. There are a few areas that need attention. The room size is small compared to the price, we noticed a yellow stain on one of the bed sheets, and the room phone was broken and not working. In addition, we observed what appeared to be a bed bug crawling on one of the curtains. Fortunately, no one was bitten, but this was concerning and suggests that room cleanliness and environmental services may require closer attention. Overall, it was still a pleasant stay, but addressing these issues would significantly improve the guest experience. Read less

I do not recommend this hotel to anyone. We booked two rooms for a total of seven nights, and unfortunately the overall experience was very disappointing. The price is not justified by the quality of service provided. The front desk staff clearly need significant training in customer service and guest experience. I requested to speak with the reception supervisor, but no one responded to my request. Additionally, our rooms were not ready until 7:00 PM, which is unacceptable after a long journey. The food served at the restaurant during both Suhoor and Iftar was also disappointing — it was often cold, several dishes were empty, and the response from staff to refill or assist was very slow. To make matters worse, until now I have still not received the invoice for my stay despite requesting it. Overall, I expected much better standards, especially from a hotel carrying the “Address” brand. I have experienced better hotels in Makkah at more reasonable prices. I chose this hotel expecting the same level of service as Address hotels in Dubai, but unfortunately that was not the case. Very disappointing experience. Read less

Horrible Check-In Process, Disappointing Suhoor, Incapable Staff - Nothing Like The Address in Dubai 1) The check-in process was a nightmare(I booked and paid in full in advance). We arrived at the hotel at 12:30pm to check-in. They found us a room at around 1:30pm(acceptable given how busy the hotel was) however, it smelled like a heavy smoker had just been smoking there. FYI, I had only 1 special request in my booking which is a strictly non-smoking room. At 2pm I went down to the reception to ask for a different room. We were asked to go perform Umrah and were assured it would be sorted out by then. At 5:30pm they still didn't have a room ready for me. Eventually, we actually ended up missing Iftar and only receiving our luggage after Maghreb prayer at around 7:20pm. Horrendous. 2) The reception was severely understaffed and each check-in process took no less than 30min creating a very busy lobby. Despite the traffic, there were check-in desks that were closed and unattended. The staff seemed overwhelmed and untrained to deal with the anticipated traffic of Ramadan despite most guests being extremely patient. 3) It was impossible to speak to anyone who works at the hotel. Every time we had an issue, we would have to stand in long lines at the reception just to raise a complaint or seek assistance. There was no interest in actually staying in touch with the guests after they check-in. 4) The Club Lounge was the lowest value for money food experience I've ever had. Zero selection of food, even worse quality. On one of the days, I literally had to force myself to eat just because I didn't want to be hungry while fasting the next day. 5) The staff kept using the excuse "it's a busy season" to justify our complaints. This is an unacceptable excuse for one of the most expensive hotels in Makkah and one of the most reputable hospitality brands in the world. Yes Ramadan is a busy season for hotels, but hotels also charge a hefty premium staying with them in Ramadan and for supposedly receiving high standards of service during the holy month. The hotel is modern and the rooms were clean and comfortable. However, customer service was not responsive on several occasions, which was disappointing. I was also surprised that English breakfast tea was chargeable, as many hotels of similar standard typically offer basic necessities complimentary. Additionally, the food was overpriced for the quality provided. The location may not be ideal for elderly guests. Even after using the shuttle service, there is still approximately a 12–13 minute walk to Masjid al-Haram, which can be physically challenging, especially during peak prayer times. The Sky Mosallas are consistently overcrowded, and the lifts are often full, resulting in long waiting times. These factors make movement within the hotel and access to prayer more difficult than expected. There are also very limited restaurant options nearby, which reduces convenience for guests who prefer to dine outside the hotel. Unfortunately, customer service was particularly disappointing. On multiple occasions, calls were not answered, and follow-ups were not handled professionally. For a property in this category, the level of service did not meet expectations. Considering the overall experience, I would recommend that travelers carefully evaluate their options. Hotels located in the Clock Tower area may offer more direct access and convenience. In its current state, the overall value does not justify the price paid. Read less

I had an excellent stay here with my family. Although the hotel is situated on top of a hill, the location is still quite close to the Masjid and it's only within a 10-minute walk from your room to the doorstep of the Masjid. The breakfast options were quite good and the staff told me the chicken a sourced locally, which reassured me given issues known with imported chicken. The view from the room was quite good and I was able to see the Haram all the way from the 16th floor. The view from the sky prayer room was phenomenal but we never prayed there since the Haram was right in front of us. The room itself was quite spacious and clean and felt luxurious despite having a relatively low price. The staff were generally quite nice and helpful. In particular from the concierge was an individual who I later befriended named Adnan, who helped me find a trustworthy and reasonably priced taxi driver to take us around Makkah. He also helped me interpret the Arabic of another taxi driver who I couldn't fully understand, and explain his intentions. His patience in this situation helped me decide which of the drivers would be more reasonable for my situation. Then when I checked out in my hotel, he helped me out of the kindness of his good heart, load our luggage onto the vehicle and sauce off. Not just as guests, but as friends. I really hope the hotel treats him nicely due to his excellent service. Read less

We stayed here in November 2024 while the access to the Masjidil Haram hasn’t been fully completed (we go to Haram by shuttle van and it was available and free to use for the guests 24 hours non-stop). For the suite guests, there were 3x meals (bfast, tea time, and dinner) in the suite-lounge (super luxurious I can say, you can see in the video I attached). The food and beverage were top-notch. The quality & selections were best. Minus : there’s only one baby chair and it was too small for toddler size. The hospitality was so-so, but the most outstanding services were from the bellboy / porter, the van’s driver and the cleaner staff in the suite-lounge. My stay at the Mövenpick Anwar Al Madinah was a mix of excellent elite benefits and some initial operational friction. Upon arrival, the check-in process was a bit complicated; the main reception was unable to process my request to use Accor Live Limitless (ALL) points for the booking, stating they couldn't see the option. I was redirected to the dedicated Accor member desk, where the staff eventually agreed to the deduction after consulting with colleagues. It’s a great property, but as a Gold member, I found that you really need to know your benefits and be persistent to ensure they are applied correctly. ​The logistics of getting into the room also required some patience. I was told the room wasn't quite ready and that I would be contacted as soon as it was available, but unfortunately, no call ever came. I eventually returned to the desk myself after the Asr prayer to successfully finalize the check-in. On the positive side, my Accor Gold status was ultimately recognized with a room upgrade, and the view from the room was truly fantastic. It’s a solid room product that makes the wait feel worth it once you are finally settled in. ​In terms of location, the hotel is well-situated, though it is worth noting for fellow travelers that it involves a slight detour to reach the Haram gates when compared to the more direct path from the Sofitel Shahd Al Madinah. While the walk is manageable, those prioritizing the absolute shortest distance might notice the difference. Overall, it’s a high-quality hotel with excellent views and strong status recognition, provided you don't mind navigating some initial communication gaps at the front desk. Read less

Overall, a very convenient place to stay. The check-in process was smooth and easy, and the staff at reception and checkout were very friendly, helpful, and welcoming. The location is definitely one of the biggest advantages. It’s extremely close to the mosque near Gate 327, literally less than a five-minute walk. There are also small stores right outside the hotel on both sides, and if you cross the road you’ll find food places and other shops as well. The room had all the basic essentials and was comfortable overall. We also had suhoor included in our stay, and it was very good with a lot of variety. Definitely recommended. They also offer paid parking at 5 SAR per hour, which is helpful if you’re driving. As for the downsides, the room key card system was quite faulty. The slot where you insert the card to unlock the door often didn’t work properly. It sometimes took many attempts to get it to switch from red to green, and I remember spending a couple of minutes just trying to enter the room. The housekeeping indicator and doorbell system were also not functioning properly. The standard has dropped a bit compared to before, but overall, considering the location and convenience, it’s still a good option for visitors. Read less

Alhamdulillah, our worship experience was very comfortable as the hotel provides very close access to the women’s entrance of Masjid Nabawi. The food at Al Salam Restaurant was also excellent, with a wide variety of delicious options, complemented by a stunning view of Masjid Nabawi. We had a very disappointing stay at the Mövenpick Hotel. Although it’s rated as a 5-star property, our experience felt more like a 1-star. We booked three rooms for the family and paid a significant amount, but the service and conditions were far below expectations. Some of the issues we faced: 1. The toilet had leaks and an unpleasant odor. 2. Reception staff were unhelpful, especially when it came to resolving a card blockage issue. 3. Chairs in the reception area were very dirty. 4. The porter (bagagiste) openly asked for money and gifts, which felt highly unprofessional. 5. We had elderly guests in our group who needed assistance, but when help was required, no one from the staff came forward. 6. The shower door was broken when asked the housekeeping to fix it no one came. Overall, we would rate this experience 1/10. We do not recommend this hotel and will certainly not be returning. The high rating (4.5 stars on Google) does not reflect the reality we encountered. You may wish to try it for yourself and form your own opinion, but for us, it was the worst hotel experience we’ve had. Read less

I had a reservation for two rooms: one with a large bed and another with two separate beds. However, when I arrived, the receptionist mistakenly gave me a room with four beds. I explained that it wasn’t what I had booked and asked her to correct it. After waiting for about 10 minutes, she told me she couldn’t do anything because many people were waiting — which left me feeling disappointed and exhausted. Luckily, another staff member who was sitting in the manager’s office noticed me and came over to ask if she could help. I explained my situation to her, and she immediately took care of everything with professionalism and kindness. She corrected the mistake and gave us exactly the rooms we had reserved. Her calm and respectful attitude made a big difference… even my niece was happy and excited to speak with her. Although I don’t know her name, I truly appreciate her help. On arrival, floor looked dirty, like it hadn't been hoovered in so many days. Bed sheets were stained and pillow had a big boggie on it 🤢. The next day, house keeping came to the room. We asked them to do the usual cleaning and to change the bed sheets. We also reported the blocked sink. They quickly unblocked the sink, gave us some water bottles and toilet rolls then sprayed air freshener in the room and left. We had to call them back, and asked them to change the covers. The cleaners were not happy about this. They showed so much attitude like they did not want to be doing their job even though we we were so nice to them and did not even complain about all the mess and dirt in our room. This is not the kind of service we expect from a 5 star hotel. Read less

The only thing going for the place is location. The room was dirty all beds had to be changed because they had visible black marks which even the staff couldnt deny. The flushes constantly stop working. maintainence staff doesnt show up to fix it. they expect you to stay in your room the entire day so they can do basic bathroom maintainence at a random time of their choosing. After starting the process from approx 7 am of complaining about the bathroom at 10 in the night i had a break down. Mr Khalid the manager was patronizing and rude. other guests had to step in to help with getting me some attention. important to note arabic speaking men spoke up because that was the only way mr khalid gave any attention. This by far has been a horrible stay. one comes for prayer and peace all i got was racism and sexism from mr khalid and his team. There are many more hotels in this area dont waste your spiritual journey by staying here. Read less

Unfortunately, these issues with the air conditioning, side lamp, and TV reception left me disappointed. In conclusion, my experience at this well-known hotel was far from what I had anticipated. The malfunctioning air conditioning system, faulty side lamp, and poor TV channel reception significantly impacted the quality of my stay. Rooms were clean, properly air-conditioned, good amenities. The breakfast buffet also offered a variety of food. Location was convenient and very quick to use elevators to exit and enter. The only good thing about this property is the location. The rest everything makes it even less than 3 star hotel. Room was super dirty and was so smelly. Beds were so much uncomfortable. Bathrooms were having such a disgusting smell. Only cigarette 🚬 smell was keep coming everywhere. There's no towel in the washroom. Upon asking the Housekeeping team working in the corridors they said, what to do it's supervisor mistake he didn't check the room. Check in process was so time taking even though there's no rush. Only 1 person was ahead of us but the staff was so "lazy" and was not paying attention. Check in staff didn't provide us with the room keys / card and asked the bell boy to drop us to the room. Bell boy opened the room with the master key and handed over the same to us - upon asking why master key, he smiled and went out of the room. At the time of Check-out, the lady at the reception was shocked to see the master key and asked me how come I've that key - I explained all this to her. Other than its great location, I didn't find any single value for money about this hotel. If anyone from the management side wants to discuss more; I'm happy to share more as well. Read less

But they didn't do anything for our problem. There is no sitting arrangement in bathroom it's very uncomfortable for disabled people and aged people as well. I could not gave more than 2 stars because of the following: 1- room furniture's are old and aged. 2- toilets seems poorly maintained. 3- During breakfast, the served orange juice was expired. I informed the staff at the restaurant two times few minutes apart and kept watching and waiting for their action to remove the juice containers but they didn't. 4- shower cabin was too small. 5- the hotel strangely designed for small size short Asian guests. I am not that tall guy! I am 190 cm tall. The ceiling height is low i could touch the ceiling while walking in the hotel corridors. I had to really bow down to open the door as the door knob is close to my knees. Toilet basin and commod were very low. Read less
