I had a pleasant stay at Elaf Kinda. The management and reception staff were very nice and friendly, which made me feel welcome throughout my visit. I especially enjoyed the daily welcome drink at Level L — a lovely touch of hospitality.
The prayer room was comfortable and convenient, and I truly appreciated the “English Spa” toiletries by Gilchrist & Soames — they added a luxurious feel to the stay.
Overall, Elaf Kinda provides good service. However, I believe the housekeeping could improve; they only cleaned the room after being called. Also, the room was smaller compared to other luxury hotels, although its close proximity to Masjid al-Haram

Wonderful Stay at Elaf Kinda Hotel, Makkah – January 2025
We had a truly blessed experience staying at Elaf Kinda Hotel during our Umrah trip in January 2025. The hotel’s prime location near the Haram made it incredibly convenient to attend prayers and perform our rituals with ease.
The rooms were clean, comfortable, and peaceful, and the staff was welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. We especially appreciated the easy access to the mosque, which allowed us to focus on our worship without any hassle.
Overall, Elaf Kinda was the perfect base for our spiritual journey, and we would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Makkah.

I stayed here with my family for 4 days and the hotel is fantastic. Very very close to Haram. Only 2 mins walk and your there. The prayers starts in front of the hotel so if your by any chance late you can easily pray just going out of the main door of the hotel. The always clean that road before prayer. The room service was amazing as everyone was well up to the task and always changed our towels and gave us water when we needed. The hotel check in process was great as I dealt with the front desk manager and he was excellent. The only drawback is the hotel do not have direct access to the road so you need to go to the clock tower underground where everyone gets dropped off and then use any of the elevators to go level 1 and walk less than a minute. If you call the hotel they will send a staff member there to pick you up from the clock tower drop off place underground. Overall a great hotel. Highly recommend

A fantastic hotel at a fantastic location. The front desk staff is very friendly and supportive.
The rooms are okay, the beds are bit smaller but comfortable.
The only problem is the access to the hotel as it is neither adjacent to access road nor the underground parkings. You have to walk with luggage to the nearby access road. Also sometimes the pedestrian access remains close specially closer to prayer times. Also staff were very polite and caring, Tito was an excellent manager at the hotel.
Overall very good experience.

Not a bad hotel, very close to the haram. Our rooms were very spacious with free WiFi and Air Con. There are two restaurants which we didn't really use except for breakfast. Staff are on hand to help and any queries / problems we had were resolved satisfactorily. Only downside is vehicles are not allowed up here so the luggage had to be carted in which the hotel staff did.

Hotel is at good location and its proximity to Haram is good advantage. Breakfast buffet is brief and good enough. Our family enjoyed the stay in general, however there are few scopes of improvement.
Front staff is bit unresponsive, request for luggage movement at checkout was not granted. There is no access for taxi or car parking, often guest has to travel long to get taxi. Housekeeping on call was not working, needed to remind them quite often. Room makeup was not done for our four days of stay that generally expected of a 3-5 star hotel. Hotel by look if quite old fashioned, however this or all above aspects can be ignored for comfort of walkable distance to Haram.

I would rate this 5 star hands down. Great customer service, great room service and fantastic breakfast buffet. But I am rating it 2 so people know that this hotel has no access for cars, buses or taxis. If you are carrying more than one suitcase then this hotel is not for you. You're taxi will not be allowed to cross the checkpoints. It's 30 min walk. The fourth checkpoint is strictly blocked for any people coming in. I showed the security my reservation and still he didn't let me pass. I was lucky to have found 2 guys who know the system I guess, and portered my two luggage to the hotel. And then when we checked out, same issue. My taxi couldn't clear any check points because it was a big van with no passenger. So the hotel bellman got my luggage all the way through 2 checkpoints. From there I had to hire a small taxi, load my 3 suitcases at this point, for SR 20 for a 2 min drive where my transportation was waiting for me. Just ridiculous how it's a nightmare with the no taxi access to the hotel. If you are not carrying any suitcases then it's the best hotel. Otherwise completely opposite. For families with luggage, please select any hotel inside the clock tower, they all have access to transport in the basement.
Ideal location for the Haram, shopping and essentials.
Professional staff, well mannered and English speaking for those who require it.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Simpler to get in and out of the hotel unlike the other clock tower hotels, where one has to spend a lot of time at ground level trying to get in, amidst a lot of chaos. I stayed at Elaf Kinda for one night and can assure you that this hotel is far better than Pullman ZamZam and Rotana. The girl at the reception and her manager were super friendly. I was upgraded to Quadruple suite with partial haram view. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delivered to our room due to Covid and it was as good as the buffet with omelette, hash brown, boil egg, croissant, cake, fruits and what not! The hotel is very caring and provided the best customer service I ever had in hotels in Makkah.

The hotel is fine and it's location is a big advantage as it is right next to haram but they cheap out on breakfast. The first day breakfast was decent but then a lot of guests arrived and they reduced the number of juices and the number of sweet items available in breakfast. Also the hot water for tea would run out and there was no replacement immediately available. They would pour 30 liters to water heater and it would take 20 minutes to heat the water. So your either wait that long or just give up the idea of tea.

Our stay at Taiba Madinah Hotel was exceptional from start to finish. The location is ideal—just steps away from the Prophet’s Mosque—making it easy and peaceful to attend prayers at any time of day.
One of the highlights of our stay was the warm welcome we received from Mr. Hussam at the front desk. He was always smiling, kind, and genuinely helpful. His positive attitude and professionalism made us feel instantly at ease and added a special touch to our experience. It’s rare to find someone who consistently goes above and beyond to ensure guests feel comfortable, and Mr. Hussam truly made a difference.
The rooms were clean and comfortable, with a beautiful view of the Haram, and the service throughout the hotel was excellent. The restaurant offered a wide variety of delicious food, catering to all tastes.
I highly recommend Taiba Madinah Hotel to anyone visiting the holy city—it’s a perfect combination of convenience, comfort, and heartfelt hospitality.

Alhamdullillah we were able to spend four beautiful days at this hotel. Coming from the U.S., we were looking for a place with close proximity to Madinah for us and our family members and this place did not disappoint. We were able to walk back and forth to and fro to the masjid for our prayers and back. It’s a one minute walk to Masjid Al Manawara and right in front of Masjid Al Qamama (the masjid where Prophet Muhammed (ﷺ) prayed for rain.
The service is amazing. The staff so hospitable, always giving Salams, and catering to whatever needs you need.
Every day in Ramadan, they would have ghisr coffee and Sukari dates for all the guests.
On Eid Day, they passed out roses, cupcakes, cake cookies, to all the guests.
I loved the architecture of this hotel - beautifully designed - the elevator when the doors close ( inside) it has the doors of Masjid Al Munawwarah.
The rooms are spacious, clean, and they have a water boiler with tea so you can have tea whenever you want.
I highly recommend getting the breakfast and dinner at the hotel- it’s fantastically amazing! Fresh, with a variety of amazing choices and cuisines. We were hooked on the cardamom tea/karak/shay Adani, fresh juices, fruit, desserts, range of food from daal, soup, chicken, Mandi, lamb, meat, bechamel, potatoes , salads, olives, cheeses, etc…

I've stayed in this hotel for one night in a unit facing the ground mosque. The best thing about this hotel is its location, It's facing the mosque from the imam side. Which means that entering the mosque is much easier due to the smaller crowd compared to the hotels at the back of the mosque. The units are clean and well maintained, Especially that it is under heavy use all year long. I've been to more luxurious hotels, but they are not far off from what I've seen in this hotel. The restaurant in the hotel is good and the food choices are also good. The reception is friendly and experienced, and transportation is near by. All in all, my experience in this hotel was very positive and I highly recommend it.

Located on northern nabawi, so you must left earlier to get space behind imam.
Elevator for down during hajj season is no function, what a 5* hotel.
Mild chlorine odour on water, especially if you use hottube. Housekeepjng team polite, dilgent and responsive but somehow not completed the job (i think this is management direrction, see below).
Soundproof ness it was very good. Waterpresssure also good. Wifi internet speed good.
Toiletries nearly completed but the housekeeping team not giving what it should, for example shavings kits, extra soap and shampoo (since the room occupied by 5 people, so you cannot only giving qty for 2 people isnt it?) Its also happened for th towel, tea/coffe/sugar, even you hide the water heater behind the cupboard , what a service.. just keep it out of the room if you didnt want your guests use it rather that hide it.
Somehow management, please if you already take contract for accepeted Indonesian hajj guests, be full service or you may not take it at all. Yes, were not regular guest (umra) that only stay 2-3 nights. Yes we will not buying anything from Starbucks, or even your resto/room service, but yes we also giving tips for housekeeping team and make your occupancy high (even full) during hajj season, isnt it profit for your hotel? So please be full service

Amal from Guest services was really nice and helpful throughout our stay! Thank you for looking after our comfort during our stay.
The hotel isn’t really modern, I didn’t really like the room and bathroom, but there isn’t anything wrong in particular. The hair dryer in the room i stayed in wasn’t working.
The staff at the restaurant are not very professional, we asked to order from the in room dining menu instead of buffet for dinner. The guy was hesitant at first & then asked us to sit at the far corner.. weird.. it wasn’t crowded. the food wasn’t great either, bland, and they took a long to serve even the starters! And something wasn’t cooked, the spring roll i believe was still frozen, as as a compensation they served us fresh fruits after.
Overall, i dont think i would stay here again.

The collaboration of the hotel with Motawif as the organizing company voor the hajji could not be worse. I have never experienced a worse service level. People who have never met were put forcefully in the same hotel room. In all my travels I have never ever had such an experience. If you try to come to agreable understanding with the management of the hotel they point towards motawif. This is not in my view how a 5 star hotel should treat their guests.

I usually dont like to do reviews like this but sadly I have to as I believe its an amanah for future hujjaj.
I went on Hajj with Hunafaa and their partners in 2025 and sadly it was a very disappointing experience. Group leads were mostly absent, leaving us to organise everything ourselves. Elderly people and first-timers were left without proper support. Communication was poor, responses were slow, and a helpful WhatsApp group was closed just before we arrived.
Muzdalifah was a disaster — we arrived late, had no space, and were told to sleep dangerously close to a busy highway. The group got split up and left behind with no care shown by the leads. Elderly people were stranded and confused, while group leaders relaxed without concern.
One group lead in particular (wont mention the name on here) was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He didn’t seem fit for the role at all.
There was no proper logistical info — we weren’t even told about free shuttle buses until days later.
This felt like a first-time operation, not a company claiming years of experience. You can’t keep telling people “have sabr” after delivering poor service. Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime journey — this company did not respect that. Would not recommend, especially for elderly pilgrims. I sincerely hope they improve.
One positive I can say is the religious and spiritual aspect was very good. Sheikh Imran Patel was on point.
Constructive Feedback for Future Hajj Trips:
While this experience was deeply disappointing, I want to provide some sincere feedback to help improve the service for future hujjaj. I believe this is an amanah (trust) that you carry, and future pilgrims deserve better:
1. Hold a live seminar with all group leads present before departure. This allows everyone to meet and become familiar with who they can approach during the trip.
2. Create and maintain a dedicated WhatsApp group for all hujjaj to communicate, share updates, and ask questions throughout the entire trip.
3. Group leads should be present at the airport before the hujjaj arrive, clearly visible, wearing appropriate branded jackets or lanyards. After check-in, take time to introduce themselves to the group properly.
4. Learn and document local hotel and area amenities (e.g., shuttle bus services, walking directions to Haram, food places), and provide this to the hujjaj before arrival.
5. Hire group leads based on character and communication skills, not just availability. Only assign individuals who want to do the role and can handle it with compassion and professionalism. There should be a minimum of two group leads per hotel—not just one.
6. Dont advertise the trip to the elderly. Especially if English is not one of their languages. Based on what I experienced, this company is not equipped to support elderly pilgrims, and advertising otherwise is misleading.
7. Hire at least one female group lead. This is a must. Many sisters needed guidance and support and had no one to turn to.

The experience with Hunafa and their hajj partners was very disappointing. Apart from religious and spiritual talks/guidance, their wasn't much support and it felt like a lot of short comings were glossed over by way of the blame game I.e it's not them it's the service provider or the default answer being have "sabr".
Unfortunately for the outlay - which for a couple can run into the tens of thousands you expect a minimum service level.
It felt like a case of over promise under deliver as opposed to the other way round.

Booked my last minute Ummrah package last February with Hunafaa Travels, Shaykul, as ever done his best to accommodate my needs, Alhamdulillah! Only thing I will say is if you’re going with children then probably look for direct flights unless you’re happy to do transit flights. Hotels both in Madinah and Makkah were great, location was perfect.

Still due refund three years later
Coming up to three years now and still yet to receive a full refund for our Hajj deposits. It has been painstaking process and they often dont reply untill prompted again. I have been very patient with them but they just want to keep hold of the money. Whether or not thier suppliers have paid them back is not my concern. I am rightly owed a refund. Will now be taking them to court to recover my money and expenses due to loss of value in three years
