Stayed here August 2024 and it was a good experience. We didn't have any issues during check-in and the concierge was very helpful with their advice. Our room felt slightly smaller than anticipated, but there was still enough room for all our suitcases to be laid out and space to pray and walk etc. The bathroom was slightly outdated but nothing like the other hotel in the same building. The location is excellent and only a short walk away from Masjid Al Haram. The building has plenty of shopping outlets as well as a food court so we did not need to eat breakfast at this hotel. The experience overall was great and we would definitely come back to stay here again.

Location: 5/5
You cannot ask for a better location – just 5 minutes and you're inside the Mataf area. The hotel is literally connected to the Haram, allowing you to pray with the congregation and never miss a single prayer. This makes it especially perfect for elderly guests or families with kids.
Facilities: 5/5
The hotel includes a 3-floor shopping mall and a diverse food court offering cuisines from around the world at very reasonable prices. Whether you're craving something traditional or international, you’ll find it here. There are also big supermarkets with all the essentials readily available – a huge plus for anyone planning a longer stay.
Room Service: 5/5
Room service was excellent – fast, responsive, and always polite. A special mention to Mr. Umer Farooq, who was exceptionally kind and attentive. He consistently made sure our stay was smooth and comfortable, and we truly appreciated his efforts.
Reception & Management: 5/5
The reception staff were incredibly welcoming and always happy to help with any request. But what truly made a difference was Mr. Abdullah, the Manager of Al Safwa Orchid. He is not just professional but also deeply kind and respectful. His warm demeanor and genuine concern for guests’ satisfaction make him stand out as a top-tier hotel manager. It’s rare to come across someone who leads with both heart and efficiency – Mr. Abdullah is the reason why many guests return again and again.

Hotel’s prime location near the Haram is its strongest asset, just minutes from the Kaaba . However, my stay didn’t fully meet 5-star expectations. The room felt dated with old furniture, and housekeeping was inconsistent—basic requests like drinking water required multiple calls . The breakfast was average. For the price, I expected better maintenance and service. While the staff were polite (especially at reception)

The Excellent about the hotel is its location by the Haram. The second good thing is the breakfast. The bad thing is the cleaning , they never come to clean the room and even I requested to have non smoking rooms , the whole floor was all smelling like smoke. Staff when asked support but I stayed 4 days/3 nights and requested cleaning but they never came.

The hotel is located opposite the Haram. So this would make it very close to the Haram. The real 5 stars is for having a Masjid within the Hotel which follows the Haram. Therefore saving alot of time fighting crowds or making your trip more convenient. Our cleaner on the 5th floor Monju Miah was always on hand and very helpful catering our needs around our schedule. There are plenty of lifts to accommodate everyone. The replacement breakfast for iftaar was tremendous. The negatives is that the hotel rooms are quite dated and they gave us a room with what could be best described as a prison view. If the convenience to the Haram wasn't present, this could be a very low star rating. Video attached is the view from the Masjid within Hotel.

The hotel is extremely close to the Haram. Literally in front of King Abdul Aziz gate where you need to enter to perform Umrah. It's convenient with food too. As the floor below from the lobby using the escalators is asian restaurants Pakistani/indian/bengali, fresh fruit juice stands, ice creams, and Arab food. And the 2nd floor down from the lobby you have all the abaaya shops and thobes.
The hotel is very convenient. However to exchange money you'll need to go into the clock tower mall because the previous money exchange shops that were in safwa towers are no longer there.
The hotel room itself was big. The mattress was quite hard. Maybe ask for extra duvet to layer it? But you get used to it anyway.
Room service need reminding sometimes to clean room. But only if you don't allow them to clean it before zuhr when most people are still sleeping.
Cant comment on hotel food as we just bought food from the restaurants below the lobby.
I've previously only stayed at swissotel its less luxury than that BUT so much less walking and convenience of food kind of outweighs the "luxury feel"

A hotel located in Makkah Al-Safwa Towers. It has a wonderful view of the Holy Haram. Staff are very helpful and cooperative with customers. Its prices are special. There is an open buffet restaurant very close to the Haram. You go down to it from the gate. The complex has an experience that will be repeated again.
It's great to go down to the courtyards of the sanctuary, there are parking lots at 23 riyals

Great location as 2nd nearest to Masjidil Haram also on top of the safwah markets which does provide easy access to shops and the food court but also means its PACKED with people.
Housekeeping needs to be VERY improved - do not allow towel changes, towel given are often tattered. Furniture and door are also run-down can be further improved.
Food was so-so they had to cater to many tastes which means most times the dishes tend to be under or over-spiced.
The musollah esp for muslimat is great though! Its shared with the other safwa towers hotel but its spacious and have to commend the ladies taking care of it.. always ensuring space utilized well and the whole area clean. As an alternative if going to masjidil haram too far or crowded, this space is great for your ibadat...

Restaurant employees works without smile, they work noisy when take all stuff from tables (less hospitality)
The 5 stars point is only for its location very close to Haram also there is Arabian traditional style market under the hotel.
Laundry, barber shop and food court are available on the market

Con: for 5 stars hotel, the cleanliness is a bit under my expectations. But maybe the amounts of peoples who stay here are too big to handle, especially at time for eating (bf, lunch, dinner) overwhelmed the waiters.

Definitely not a 5-Star Hotel, 3.5 at BEST. Did not have a pleasant stay. The staff were very virtuous though.
Food given for breakfast has not been appetizing for the 5 days we were here.
There are NO IRONS in the rooms. Calling the front desk or services gets you nothing as I called a few times with no action, asked for an Iron Board, water and ice because I broke my toe in their too small bathroom. Who has a door stopper coming out the middle of the floor.
Terrible planning.
It DOES, however, provide quick and easy access to Al Haram, which is the reason why we’re all here.

Cleanliness and facilities in bathroom so moderate. Maybe management need to take serious about this matter cause this hotel is 5â. Amazing- located in the Safwah towers with all the amenities one would need, although a very busy hotel must add the stay here was just ideal due to its location being right opposite to the grand mosque. Breakfast ( buffet) was good. Rooms are standard and clean not large enough to accommodate a quad request.

One major thing that ruined this hotel for me was the air conditioning. My mum, dad and I got really sick. it seems as if they don’t regularly clean and dust kept coming out of the filter. My mum being really sensitive to dust got really sick, we had to keep the air conditioning on though as it was really hot. Not a good place for health.

Terrible Experience – Not a 5-Star Hotel!
Do not be fooled by the 5-star rating — this hotel is barely a 3-star at best. Our first room had visible mould, a broken shower and bathtub, filthy carpets, and layers of dust and dirt everywhere. We requested a room change, but the second room had the exact same issues. The third room was even worse — it started to smell like sewage shortly after we checked in.
The entire hotel is extremely outdated, with rooms that look like they haven’t been renovated since the 1980s. This is nowhere near the standard you’d expect from a supposed 5-star establishment.
To make matters worse, Alharam Travel (Romford Road, London) changed our hotel last minute — not once, but twice — and placed us in this awful place. Completely unacceptable and disappointing from both the hotel and the travel agency.
Avoid at all costs.

Title: Conveniently Located Hotel with Some Areas for Improvement - Frontel Madinah
I recently stayed at Frontel Madinah during my visit to the holy city of Madinah, and overall, it was a decent experience. The hotel boasts a fantastic location, being near the iconic Masjid Nabawi, which made it very convenient for attending prayers and exploring the city.
However, I must admit that the first impression of the hotel was slightly underwhelming. The elevator was disappointingly slow, leading to some frustrating wait times during peak hours. Additionally, the elevator itself was quite cramped, which could be uncomfortable, especially for guests with mobility concerns.
One of the highlights of my stay was the food selection offered during breakfast and lunch. While not exceptional, the choices were satisfactory, and the quality was decent enough to start the day with a good meal. I especially enjoyed the Dacidoff coffee sachet provided in the room, which was a delightful touch.
Speaking of the rooms, I found them to be quite pleasant overall. The mattress was comfortable, providing a good night's sleep, and I was pleased to find two pillows for each occupant, allowing for personalized comfort. The housekeeping staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring that the rooms were kept tidy and well-maintained throughout our stay.
Another delightful aspect of Frontel Madinah was its proximity to a Baskin Robbins cafe near the reception area. It was a perfect treat for a quick dessert after a day of exploring the city or attending prayers. Additionally, the hotel's location also allowed easy access to nearby shopping areas, which was a bonus for those who wanted to indulge in some retail therapy.
In conclusion, Frontel Madinah is a hotel with both pros and cons. While its location near Masjid Nabawi and friendly housekeeping staff are definite assets, there are areas that need improvement, such as the slow and cramped elevator. Despite some shortcomings, I would consider staying here again in the future, given its convenience and the overall satisfactory experience during my visit.

I was staying in this hotel junior suite room 811 , stay date 28th July 2023.
As per picture, you guys can see there is a steel peice has been fixed on the pillar behind the bed. My son was sleeping on bed , during he sleep he turned his hands towards another direction and touched this steel piece, which results cuts on his hands due to this steel decoration peice has sharp edges.
You guys can see the blood on the bed of my son.

It was one of the worst experiences I have ever had, as the prices were prohibitive for such a service. Bad rooms, size very cramped and not clean at all. Breakfast was bad too, it was the worst two nights I had in town. I also booked the room for a price and upon checking out the hotel they asked me double the price !!!!! Lack of credibility, lack of hygiene, very poor service.

For many reasons,
First, it’s by the Haram.
Second, it’s very clean.
Last but not least, the food is amazing.
Finally, the prices are more than fair.
Totally recommend it ðŸ‘ðŸ¼

Though the place is good but you can not call it a five star hotel in any sense. Double bedroom is actually consist of two single beds joined together. So you can imagine how would it feel like to rest on it with a family. Apart from that, the management is cooperative and helpful. And very much close to gate 16 of Majid nabi saww. The breakfast is awesome consisting of different yogurts, fresh fruits, fresh juices, breads and buns, muffins, donuts, omelets, scrambled eggs, falafel, one main dish, rice, salads, different types of cheese slices and many more.

I usually dont like to do reviews like this but sadly I have to as I believe its an amanah for future hujjaj.
I went on Hajj with Hunafaa and their partners in 2025 and sadly it was a very disappointing experience. Group leads were mostly absent, leaving us to organise everything ourselves. Elderly people and first-timers were left without proper support. Communication was poor, responses were slow, and a helpful WhatsApp group was closed just before we arrived.
Muzdalifah was a disaster — we arrived late, had no space, and were told to sleep dangerously close to a busy highway. The group got split up and left behind with no care shown by the leads. Elderly people were stranded and confused, while group leaders relaxed without concern.
One group lead in particular (wont mention the name on here) was rude, dismissive, and unprofessional. He didn’t seem fit for the role at all.
There was no proper logistical info — we weren’t even told about free shuttle buses until days later.
This felt like a first-time operation, not a company claiming years of experience. You can’t keep telling people “have sabr” after delivering poor service. Hajj is a once-in-a-lifetime journey — this company did not respect that. Would not recommend, especially for elderly pilgrims. I sincerely hope they improve.
One positive I can say is the religious and spiritual aspect was very good. Sheikh Imran Patel was on point.
Constructive Feedback for Future Hajj Trips:
While this experience was deeply disappointing, I want to provide some sincere feedback to help improve the service for future hujjaj. I believe this is an amanah (trust) that you carry, and future pilgrims deserve better:
1. Hold a live seminar with all group leads present before departure. This allows everyone to meet and become familiar with who they can approach during the trip.
2. Create and maintain a dedicated WhatsApp group for all hujjaj to communicate, share updates, and ask questions throughout the entire trip.
3. Group leads should be present at the airport before the hujjaj arrive, clearly visible, wearing appropriate branded jackets or lanyards. After check-in, take time to introduce themselves to the group properly.
4. Learn and document local hotel and area amenities (e.g., shuttle bus services, walking directions to Haram, food places), and provide this to the hujjaj before arrival.
5. Hire group leads based on character and communication skills, not just availability. Only assign individuals who want to do the role and can handle it with compassion and professionalism. There should be a minimum of two group leads per hotel—not just one.
6. Dont advertise the trip to the elderly. Especially if English is not one of their languages. Based on what I experienced, this company is not equipped to support elderly pilgrims, and advertising otherwise is misleading.
7. Hire at least one female group lead. This is a must. Many sisters needed guidance and support and had no one to turn to.

The experience with Hunafa and their hajj partners was very disappointing. Apart from religious and spiritual talks/guidance, their wasn't much support and it felt like a lot of short comings were glossed over by way of the blame game I.e it's not them it's the service provider or the default answer being have "sabr".
Unfortunately for the outlay - which for a couple can run into the tens of thousands you expect a minimum service level.
It felt like a case of over promise under deliver as opposed to the other way round.

Booked my last minute Ummrah package last February with Hunafaa Travels, Shaykul, as ever done his best to accommodate my needs, Alhamdulillah! Only thing I will say is if you’re going with children then probably look for direct flights unless you’re happy to do transit flights. Hotels both in Madinah and Makkah were great, location was perfect.

Still due refund three years later
Coming up to three years now and still yet to receive a full refund for our Hajj deposits. It has been painstaking process and they often dont reply untill prompted again. I have been very patient with them but they just want to keep hold of the money. Whether or not thier suppliers have paid them back is not my concern. I am rightly owed a refund. Will now be taking them to court to recover my money and expenses due to loss of value in three years
